Great course and greens. Very challenging, lost 5 balls (into the drink) on the entire round, top notch championship course.

A premier golf course that was in top condition. Avoid the sandy waste areas on the front 9 and water on the back 9
Good coffee and food available.

Great to be back as a spectator @ The Aus Open 23, Joined The Lakes November 1983,many memorable memories & a great association with so many great staff & members , truly a special place in my heart First Hole -in-One on the 18th , 1996 Junior Champion, Represented in Eric Apperley & junior Pennants. This Golf Club is a fully private golf club, in saying that, I was able to make a brief visit to see the course getting prepared for the Australian Open Golf.

I went to the pro shop, the staff were very friendly and helpful with my purchases of special ball markers. I was able to have a quick walk around. This place is awesome.
I would love to come and play a game here as a guest of a member one day.

Conveniently located just 15 minutes from Sydney CBD and 10 minutes from Sydney’s Kingsford Smith airport. The Lakes Golf Club is strategically positioned within the Botany Water Reserve. Hosting major events like the 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2018 and this years 2023 overall 8 Men's Australian Opens, this private club provides golfers with the opportunity to experience one of Australia's most famous layouts. The back nine is one of the best in the world featuring 3 par 5’s with water hazards everywhere. 4 par 4’s and 2 par 3’s which require the average golfer to hit a hybrid or more. Corporate events are welcome on Mondays and Thursdays. The food is outstanding for a golf club and can rival most restaurants. There are specials on the menu every week and they are always a good option. I would suggest a round with a member as local knowledge makes the world of difference because when the wind gets up you may need 2 or 3 more or less clubs on anyone shot. The staff are knowledgable and are super friendly and finally a golf pro shop full of those keepsakes from your most memorable visit. There is a full driving range and the pro shop will organise a bucket of balls for a small fee.
