Impressive structure in Bicentennial Park that you can walk up to view the surrounding parklands and walkways. Closed after dark, it’s a good place to take the kids and tire them out walking up the stairs. Makes an impressive sight at night with the tower floodlit from below.

Amazing view from the top of the treillage tower.
Also the mangrove was amazing.

Such a great spot for a wedding! One of our favorites actually.
The trees make for a perfect setting, keeping things cool even on a VERY hot day. The access for vendors is fabulious and the staff are great to work with. Can be a bit noisy with people passing by, so we were inspired to make a "Shhh please" sign to put up near our outdoor weddings :)

Cannot believe the changes they made on the tower down to the Opal tower on that site. Since it’s inception in 1988 the place looks dull with grey paint on the tower. It used to be sky blue paint and the wooden lattice on the tower were truly wooden tan brown but they changed it.
It looks small and dead.
How do I know ? I was there 33 years ago when the Prime Minister Bob Hawke flew over the site via helicopter ….and I gave him the finger…what can I say I was a young kid.
Here is the original proof of the site can you see the width of the site is originally wider and the seats are next to the trees.

Good open area in the park for viewing the surrounding areas.

A chosen meeting place when gathering as a group of walkers or cyclists. Good views from top of this tower - particularly towards Olympic Park precinct. I've been here to score a geocache find (the geocache is cleverly concealed in the tower). No wheelchair or pram access to top of tower. Allow ten minutes to climb up and down tower.

Great view of the bicentennial park area and surrounds.

This place is relaxing for picnic or a family day out great place for a walk or a jog or just to relax with a cup of coffee in the midst of nature... The path that leads to the treillage tower did not have their water fountains turned on if they were it would have made for a better views from the top of the tower...However there is large green field next to the treillage tower which is great for playing sports...
Also the path through the woods that has stairs which lead up to the treillage tower is great to experience what a walk through the bush forest would be like... Much cooler to walk through on a hot summers day to reach bicentennial park.. It has further bush walk trails at cross roads near the entry of the long stairway path & at the mid-section.. Thats if you wish to do a bush walk around Olympic park...
