Woodland Park American Legion

I had my small wedding at this location and my baby shower at this location (my sisters liked the surrounding area of the location).

The positives:
It's in a nice area in woodland park.
The event room is just the right size, especially for a 30 person wedding.
It's budget friendly.
The guy that showed us the location was friendly and answered all questions.

Things that can be worked on for a 5 star and better experience:
Reply to emails in an efficient and courteous manner. The event staff make it clear on their page that they have minimal communication in lieu of providing detailed emails. However, not only did I receive 2 different codes and needed clarification, which I requested as soon as I received the email because I was decorating for my wedding, we didn't receive the wifi code at all. Thank goodness the cleaning guy was there and was able to intercept to contact someone to provide the wifi code. No one ever replied to my email, not even after my wedding and previously I had communication with someone before booking my wedding, so the email is clearly monitored. As a very detailed person, I expect things to be done right the first time, so having to figure out which code is the right one as we all arrived to setup was not nice.

Overall:
It's a budget friendly space that you can decorate.

Very nice party space and patio. Staff was supportive throughout the event but the ladies restroom overflooded during the party and all the ladies were forced to use the men's room all night. Other than that, definitely a cute spot for a party.

I was highly disappointed, I rented this hall on 11/12/21. Walked into a pool of water from a ceiling leak, unable to contact ANYONE via phone call nor on Facebook. The hall had a mop with 3 strings attached for me to work with. I mopped up the flood before my guests arrived. (Literally took me 2 hours) , No Garbage cans were provided, every garbage can outside was FULL of garbage and not emptied. NO PROPER LIGHTING OUTSIDE, now that it gets darker earlier the lights should be on a timer. (I had 2 guests fall from the darkness)...One of the female bathroom toilets kept overflowing on ITS OWN with no one using it (As I had the door locked) .... NEVER AGAIN-----Highly disappointed I had to choose a star in order to post. (Star NOT DESERVED)

Will never consider this place again. Hall was booked for a birthday in advance after a recommendation from a friend who attended an event there last weekend and obvious availability on their website. Received a confirmation email for the reservation, access code to the hall, reminder email for the reservation, and was fully charged prior to the day of my event. The day of, spent 40 minutes attempting to contact someone from this place due to access code not working. Finally got in contact with ‘the manager’ who was absentminded and extremely unprofessional to say the least. He states that their computer system automatically does all of the stated above on it’s own despite them “being closed since March” (although last weekend’s event didn’t count). Ridiculous! Ruined a birthday the day of, wasted money on several rental companies, and overall TERRIBLE experience. Do not book here!

Great place to have your event. It’s big. They provide tables and chairs. They recently redid the kitchen and now have an ice machine. HUGE PLUSES!! Booking online was simple and when I had a question I emailed them and they got back to me the next day.

I Must Say It A Cute Small Spot For 80 (Great Size Dance Floor) to 100 Guest (Its A Small Dance Floor) The Max Banquet Style. Beautiful Kitchen Size. Great Parking and You Need To Provide Your Own Food & Beverages.

I had my wedding here and it was beautiful. The parking was sufficient although the 2nd parking lot can be easily over looked. I will say that it did get quite hot in the room even with the ac on. The facilities were clean and accessible to all. I would have another event there.

LOCKED OUT. We booked this place for our son's first birthday party on a hot summer day. On the scheduled day we show up and the place is locked. There is no way to get in touch with anybody. We have balloon people, the bakery with the cake and the caterer with food for 60 people show up and nowhere to put any of it. My wife scrambled to make phone calls to find an alternate place to have the party. We got lucky and Francesco's really helped us out literally last minute to accommodate us and we still had to inform all of our guests of the change. Due to limited space, we did not get to decorate as planned or take advantage of the activities we had planned. A couple hours later my wife got a call from the person in charge who then gave her the code to get in the building. When my wife responded that we were forced to go elsewhere due to it being locked he said "I don't know what to tell you" WOW. We incurred a significant loss since we had to use Francesco's last minute and when we emailed the person in charge his response was to choose not to respond. So these are the facts-Obviously not recommended at all based on this horrific and traumatic experience with this establishment.
