As a first-time unpublished novelist, WriteByNight directly addressed my needs for criticism and advice. Alex Myers detailed analysis highlighted both positive qualities and items that needed further refinement. His keen commentary provided a functional baseline that will enable me to make the necessary edits and improvements. David Duhr was equally helpful in organizing the critique and keeping lines of communication open. I will continue to use WriteByNight, they are a highly useful and well-organized business.

David Duhr was, and is, very generous with his time. I have used his services and asked for advice over the years, and I'm always satisfied with the results. Sara was helpful with her beta read discussion and loading my manuscript into KDP (she was very patient with my cover issues). John Sibley Williams reviewed my query, synopsis & BIO, offering sound advice and presenting an insightful marketing seminar. Brad was thorough and timely in editing my manuscript. I will continue to use WriteByNight services in the future. Thanks, David.

AMAZING experience and highly recommend WriteByNight! I worked with Joanna who was very informative, provided so much constructive comments and pointed out how to deconstruct and reconstruct my memoir. As a first-time author, I have to admit I was scared to have someone read my book however, Joanna was very kind, informative and overall AWESOME! Even though there are a lot of things I need to redo, I felt inspired after leaving my conversation with Joanna. If you are writing for the first time or twenty-fifth time, I highly recommend WriteByNight....btw, the owner, David Duhr, is very quick to respond and a great resource on what package to pick. He is very honest and transparent- sadly, a trait lacking nowadays from so many companies.

I have been very happy with my experience at WriteByNight so far. David was very helpful in guiding me to the right reviewer for my manuscript and he helped get my query letter and synopsis in good shape. Alex Myers gave me a great critique of the manuscript with a lot of helpful and concrete suggestions. I really enjoyed talking through his comments on a video call and I’m currently working through what we discussed to improve the book. Ultimately though, the most valuable thing so far was hearing that the book has promise and getting the encouragement to pursue publication. I plan to come back soon to get more help with moving through the publication process. Many thanks to David and Alex for the help so far.

WriteByNight was great to work with. I am in the querying process and was looking for another set of eyes on the first ten pages of my manuscript. I did a read-through with Michael Bible, and he provided some immensely helpful insight into how I might get some more traction with getting my book in the right hands. I'm still working on it, but I appreciated the thoughtful chat with Michael. He also got me going on one of my new favorite authors (Larry Brown).

I had a great experience with WriteByNight and hope to continue working with them. David was very generous with his time on the front end, and worked with me to figure out what I needed. Then JoAnna did a read of my draft that was both affirming and encouraging. I came away with an actionable critique. Highly recommend.

I finally made the decision to invest in myself (rather than buy more goats, alpacas, or horses) and it was the best move! Writing a synopsis and query were like these two huge walls I couldn't (and didn't want to) scale. From first contact with David Duhr, I have been so pleased with the assistance I received. Alex Myers read my novel and very quickly provided drafts of both the synopsis & query. I also had a Zoom meeting with John Sibley Williams and he made me feel comfortable right away - and also recommended additional edits. I had already accumulated an extensive agent list, but David provided a few more. I've submitted to 45 agents so far, and am gradually getting responses. One agent requested the full manuscript within hours of submitting a query, and while it turned out to be a pass, it's very encouraging to get personal feedback, rather than a form letter. So far all nos, but about half have sent personal notes that are much appreciated -and I know those responses are due to the work done by the WBN staff. Still waiting to hear back from about 3/4 of the agents I submitted to and I will never give up!
Thank you so much!
