If you want to witness history and evolution of Indian railways this is the place to visit . We spent 1 hour time and enjoyed joyride of toy train also. It remains open till 4:30pm. Can purchase tickets online or on counters. 100/- entry and 50/- for train ride.
Visit indoor museum too. Overall great experience.
Must do place in Delhi.

The museum offers a delightful spot within the city for an afternoon outing with kids. It features air-conditioned chalets that showcase a collection of historical railway coaches and artifacts. Visitors can also enjoy intricate working models of miniature trains. The highlight is the operational joy train that takes guests on a tour around the premises. Tickets for admission and the joy train ride are available right at the entrance at affordable prices. Additionally, you can marvel at the vintage, full-sized coaches and engines on exhibit.

Visited with kids on Sunday to enjoy the joy ride of the mini rail in National Rail Museum. Vintage steam engine's are point of attraction. Very huge and very old rail engines are there.

Great place to see and learn about old trains. Very large collection of real old trains.

You can:
- see old train compartments/engines
- take a ride on the toy train, even adults would have fun.
- Visit the museum, which shows the history and future of the trains. Which is very well created and maintained.

You can easily spend 2 hours here.

You can also book tickets online easily for entry and toy train to save time.

Entry fee is Rs. 50 on weekdays and 100 on weekends.

A must visit place. Especially for kids. You will be pleasantly surprised as to how well they have maintained the museum. You will get to see mock ups as well as full scale models. There is a joy train and toy train rides that your kids will enjoy the most. It is good to see the technology evolution over the time.

Really good place, can be interesting both: children and adults. You can see different types of train and enjoy riding Joy train, need to pay separately, only 20 rupees. Better to go on week days, so there is less crowd.

I recently visited the rail museum with a friend, and it was an absolute delight! The diverse collection of trains, historical artifacts, and interactive exhibits made the experience both educational and enjoyable. The well-maintained displays showcased the rich history of rail transport, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the rail museum for anyone interested in trains or looking for a fascinating day out. Thumbs up! 😊😊
