Lokal Spot Event Space

I booked Lokal Space Event for my daughter's Sweet 16 and I was absolutely amazed at the service I received from beginning to end. They were very informative and took alot of stress off of me. When I walked in the day of the event and was taken back by how beautiful it looked. The decorations were beautiful and all my guest had nothing but compliments. The staff was very helpful throughout our time there and everyone was very friendly. It may be "the hood" but its definitely a diamond in the rough

I had the absolute worst experience imaginable at this venue. I chose it to have my baby shower based on an event package that was supposed to include having the space for 6 hours with an additional 15 minute grace period, an event space manager, wireless speakers with a microphone, and wifi. My event was supposed to be from 1pm until 7/7:15pm. That is what I paid for, as well an additional $500 deposit, and what I signed paperwork for. I arrived and was not greeted or addressed at all, mind you there was a group of employees that were there and visible at my event for the entire time just standing around talking, taking phone calls, dancing, completely unprofessional. I found that the equipment that was to be used to play music was not working. Apparently, the day before, someone had taken a cord that was necessary for the sound system to work and this was not addressed prior to my event. They sent someone to get a cord from Best Buy, and even then, none of the employees knew what they were doing. My husband had to stop our event to set it up for them and even then we did not have music until 4pm. For THREE HOURS into our six hour event we were in silence. As we opened gifts one of the employees finally addressed me and not to acknowledge or apologize for this, but instead to tell me she was glad I was enjoying the venue. She walked up on the stage in the middle of our celebration, after it had already been delayed, to tell me I was enjoying it. I was not, and I did not, because it did not stop there. The employees began clearing the space around 05:15pm, AS MY EVENT WAS STILL GOING ON. They started clearing table settings, taking the linens off of the tables, stacking the chairs. The table settings were mine. I also rented some linens from the venue but also brought some of my own. They took my tablecloths. I tried my hardest to rationalize it in my mind and just continue the shower so I wouldn't look back on this day with sadness. I was unsuccessful. There is a grocery store beside the venue. I stepped out to try and vent to a friend so I could return and be present and not upset. When I returned, they had cleared everyone out of the venue, locked the doors and pulled the gate down. It was 06:30pm. I cannot believe the amount of money I paid to have music for only an hour, to have employees lingering during my event and clearing it before schedule so that they could leave earlier, and to be locked out of the venue 45 minutes before my time slot was over, all without once consulting me, the paying customer. If you wish to get the time and equipment you've paid for and to be treated with the kindness and consideration a person celebrating a life event would expect, do not book this venue. I will never get this moment in time back... celebrating having a child. How terrible to call yourself an event space and have no regard for the people actually having an event.

I had my 21st birthday there and the owners was nothing but genuine and patient with me with everything and they will work with you about your budget. They brought my vision of my party to life and I had the time of my life.

Lokal Spot is a great event space. I have hosted multiple events there and it was a wonderful experience from the ambiance to the food I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
