Recently went for dinner based on these exceptionally good reviews online. We were seated quickly but everything went downhill from then on. They were busy, but by no means full. Even after waiting around for nearly twenty minutes, not one server came to the table. We even tried to get their attention by waving someone over & they would walk off right by us plainly ignoring us. After a while the person who was manning the front desk all the way over, likely the owner, had to come over & call one of the servers over. Our second mistake was not walking out the door at that time & deciding to give them a second chance. We ordered tandoori chicken wings, some entrees & bread. The wings tasted okay, but were not cooked through, they were pink inside. The rumali roti was tough & hard to even bite into - atleast they didn’t charge us for that. Chicken entree was the only saving grace, it was decent. We also got the masala soda & that was worse - tasted like sprite mixed with jaljeera powder - served in the those good old clear plastic soda glasses.
About service, I have to agree with one of the earlier reviews that mentioned something very specific - theres a clear pattern of who gets treated well & who gets ignored. There r folks who seem to have enjoyed dining here, but IMO this was overall one of, if not the worst dining experiences both in terms of food & service for us. Not going back again.

I stopped here to run in for a "quick bite". But the atmosphere here was so calming it compelled me to relax and savor everything. This is the best lunch I've had in a very long time.

Upon recommendation, I ordered the Lunch Express (vegetarian) which I LOVED! It's a full meal, and the flavors were amazing. Everything was perfectly prepared, temperature, texture, amount of spice- all spot on! The paneer was soft but firm. The lentils were delicious. The rice pudding was so good!

Tom was an excellent server and explained the dishes when serving. I will definitely be back.

We visited Saffron on a Monday due to our usual Indian restaurant in Cary being closed. We had never been prior, but took a chance, and wow, Saffron exceeded our expectations.

I don't want to keep you long with this review, so a few highlights:

- We ordered a little bit of everything - chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken korma, lamb korma, chicken 65, tandoori chicken, and Dahi Puri. All were delicious! I will say, they add bell peppers to the tikka, which was new to us. If it were up to us, we'd be fine without them. Lastly, the main courses (korma, butter chicken, etc) could easily be shared by 2 people. I noted people complaining about portion size in other reviews, but that was not our experience.

- The wait staff and ownership provided a wonderfully inviting environment to our family. It was almost like we walked into a beloved family members' home. What I mean by this is that they generously provided extras to our group - much like a loving mother, grandmother would as you entered their home.

- After paying our bill, the owner found out we were there for my wife's birthday. She kindly asked us to stay and provided her with a lovely Indian desert, complete with singing along with our group.

Thank you all at Saffron. You were very kind and gracious. We appreciate you for that and we will certainly be back!

Everyone was so very nice. They offered us free sampling of rice pudding which was sooooo good. My favorite is the biriyani!! I get it with lamb my husband gets it’s with goat.. and their version of it was wonderful!! So this was a phenomenal first time experience!!

Got so full we had to take some home togo!!

We loved this place. We are very picky after living in major cities with many international cuisine options. We usually set our standards low since Raleigh is still growing and hasn’t always impressed us when it comes to food, but this is a gem in in Cary. We got the butter chicken, lamb biryani, butter naan, lehsuni chicken appetizer, mango lassi, and the Szechuan noodles and all of it was great. Would recommend.

Step into Saffron for a taste of India like no other! They’ve got veggie options that are a real treat, with gravies that break the tomato norm, offering a fresh and tasty twist.

But let me tell you, the Daal Bukhara steals the show! It’s creamy, aromatic, and just melts in your mouth. Seriously, you've gotta try it!

For anyone up for a food adventure, Saffron is the place to be. Their Daal Bukhara alone is worth the trip!

Tried someplace new and were very glad that we did! Everyone was so friendly, and our server made great recommendations for our meal. The food was excellent and well presented. Crazy Naan bread had a balance of garlic and spice that we weren't expecting but really liked.

We'll definitely be returning and recommending to friends!
