My favorite stairs so far in LA. I like the ones right near me north of Los feliz but Baxter surpasses it because of the nature surrounding it and there are always very few people and almost no dogs so my dog doesn't get spooked. Glad I discovered it

One of those rare places in LA where you can get a double sided view of the city. One way looks towards Griffith, and the other the downtown skyline. An ideal day would be to grab some brunch at Lady Byrd close by, climb the stairs, then walk into Elysian park for a stroll and back. You won’t regret it!
If you’re starting at the top, the stairway is tucked in between two homes. Parking is limited to one side of the street, and No parking signs are posted for certain times/days.
Before you walk down the stairs you have a clear view of Elysian Park, downtown and Chavez Ravine.
Their are 297 stairs and about half way down a narrow dirt trail that wraps around Kite Hill.
A great workout, spectacular views and a connection to the parks trails below.

Fitness is free! And it's at the Baxter Stairs. The best stairs in the Beachwood Canyon/Echo Park/Silver Lake area for your Urban Hike. 230 in all! Also check out the Avon stairs, just a few blocks away. 192 there. Perfect for a loop hike!

A good climb yields the reward of beautiful views of the LA skyline from Kite Hill/Elysian Park.

Get the best view in LA without a million 20 somethings taking selfies in 100 different angles in your way.

Short, intense workout, beautiful view 3/4 of the way up via 100 foot side trail. Nice view from the top after crossing small road. Plenty of street parking at the bottom on Baxter or adjacent streets. The top is accessed via narrow winding streets with limited parking and not thru traffic friendly.

Nice views of LA, connects to Elysian Park. Great public stairs if you're in the area
