The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens is the oldest park in the territory. Built in 1860 and partially opened in 1864, they were completed in 1871. The gardens, with an area of 5.6 hectares, are divided into eastern and western parts by Albany Road. These are connected by a pedestrian subway. The eastern part, known as the Old Garden, comprises the children’s playground, aviaries, a greenhouse and the fountain terrace garden. It is also home to birds such as the American flamingo, Bali mynah, Hawaiian goose and red-crowned crane. The western part, or the New Garden, is mainly home to mammals, including the Bornean orangutan, buff-cheeked gibbon, emperor tamarin and raccoon, as well as reptiles like the elongated tortoise and spurred tortoise.
Very peaceful. Loved visiting a small zoo and garden free of charge right near the big city. Well worth a visit.
A peaceful place to be in your free time. Free entrance and not much of a crowd. Lots of animals and safe for kids to enjoy sightseeing. Best place to unwind with lots of trees.
Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens Green House is situated right in the city centre. It is an underestimated tourist attraction and deserve more attention that it currently garners.

It's always a pleasure to visit this green house to see the beautiful flowers inside.
Pleasant experience, you'll get quite a bit of exercise. The atmosphere is a small break in the urban jungle. There are interesting views and some animals.
What a lovely garden right in the middle of busy Hong Kong! So lovely to see flowers blooming. You relax and enjoy your meal here.
It's a large garden in Central with views of the city, and a variety of plant and animal species. The admission is free as well. Great place to wander around in. There's a lot of uphill walks coming from the MRT and in the garden, so remember to pack a bottle of water.
