Der Platz ist schön manchmal ist dort ein markt mit vielen sachen die man sich anschauen kann aber natürlich auch kaufen die statue in der mitte des platzes ist schön in laufweite ist das bild von keith herring sehr besonders und gegenüber ein kaffee mit leckeren sachen. Emphelenswärt
The square is dominated by the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II , created by Cesare Zocchi and inaugurated on 22 September 1892 in the presence of King Umberto. According to a local tradition, full of typical Pisan irony, the long feather on the helmet was added to make the figure appear more slender, given the evident roundness of the Italian sovereign, and the royal nickname of spiombato was born from this physical conformation . The square was crossed by medieval walls and inside the underground car park the base of the Porta San Gilio and some structures of the external drawbridge (12th century) were brought to light .
Lovely square,plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the lovely sunshine and to people watch…beautiful merry go around in the square

Great place to chill with friends while waiting for your train at the Central Station! It is near Keith Haring's Tuttomondo mural, several coffee shops, the corso italia, parking area, restaurants, etc which makes it very convenient if you just want to spend your day strolling and chilling in the city center.
Das Monument von Vittorio Emanuele II steht auf der gleichnamigen Piazza. Der Platz bietet sich aus Ausgangspunkt für einen Besuch von Pisa an. Unter dem Platz ist eine Tiefgarage und von hier kann der Besucher durch die Fußgängerzone auf geradem Weg zum Fluss Arno und dann weiter zur Piazza dei Miracoli (Schiefer Turm, Dom, Baptisterium) gehen. Der Besucher erhält so einen Eindruck von der Geschäftswelt und den Wohnbereichen der Altstadt von Pisa. Dieser Rundgang führt auch an weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbei und ist daher sehr zu empfehlen.
Nice square to visit, very close to railway station pisa centrale....lots of sgops for shopping and many food stalls are there. Good place to spent time.
