Beautiful Piazza to visit. It doesn’t get too crowded on the outskirts, but the central fountain tends to get busy. But you’ll still be able to get to the frontlines and take a photo.

Lots of food and drinks options in the vicinity, so don’t stress on the really hot days!

It's a stunning piazza to explore. There's an abundance of restaurants catering to breakfast, lunch, or dinner. During the day, shade is somewhat scarce, but by night, with the enchanting lighting, it transforms into a magical place. I dined here often, and the ambiance was always delightful. Mornings tend to get quite busy, thanks to the numerous tourist tours passing through.

A lavishly decorated square with beautiful fountains and buildings that are brimming with history. Street entertainers and portrait painters are always around. Must see!

Incredible building. The space has to be experienced. Like other Roman structures in the city it has been preserved by virtue of becoming a church. There are snippets of the Roman construction in amongst the ecclesiastical opulence and not much information about the pagan heritage of the building is freely available. We did not get audio guides however.

The website did not work and getting advance tickets at the admission price of 5.5 euros was impossible. We paid double but had to pick up tickets from the piazza Navona or wait in a long queue in the sun.

Piazza Navona is pure magic. The moment I stepped onto the cobblestones, I was captivated by the stunning fountain and the lively atmosphere. Sitting at a cafe, sipping espresso, and watching artists at work felt like stepping back in time. The square's charm is irresistible, making it one of my favorite spots in Rome.

Historic view.
What a building and history behind it.. amazing architecture .
You need to pay 60 euro to enter inside. So many people will be selling ticket outside.
You can reach here via bus.

This was also a brilliant sight. There was a long long queue for entry and somehow it seems that the queue for the on-spot ticket moved rather faster than the queue for the online ticket. However once inside it was a sight to behold. You would be seeing the ‘gods rays’ and it would be a sight to behold

So much history. Worth the wait. Check out the drain holes near the center, the building never flooded even in heavy rain. Absolute marvel. Get there early

A must see is essential at least on the exterior grounds. A tour guide is highly recommended unless you are well versed in Roman history and architecture. As it can be a little complicated to understand everything you are experiencing.

If you plan on visiting the inside, then a guided tour will speed up the entry process and effectively visit the structure in all its glory.

Special entrances for VIP and the Emperor's, walkways for the fighters, seats and orientation of the structure, the abandonment and neglect, and it's resurgence... And everything in between

Beautiful. Very busy but well controlled queues even though long. TOP TIP: buy tickets in advance and to do this subscribe to Pantheon official website and buy tickets directly from them. It's so much cheaper and you can pick your own time slot. My husband and I arrived at the Pantheon then walked the short distance to Piazza Navona Square and sat in one of the many cafes and then purchased our tickets. We enjoyed the whole atmosphere and even got to hear the bells Chime at 12 noon. We then made our way to the Pantheon for our 1-130pm time slot, walking straight in !!! Its beautiful and very calm inside where you can take in the breathtaking paintings and statues and sheer size of it. Amazing place.

Buy your tickets in advance! Better yet, book a guided tour.
There is so much history here it is worth the extra cost to have a tour guide explain to you all the detailed history of this amazing landmark.

Best to visit in the late evening when it is cooler. Also best to visit in the evening for photographs with the sunset casting shadows on all the many archways.

A destination not to be missed when in Rome.
Easily accessible from the Metro station located steps from the entrance.

Well, it's 5€ each to get in, so we went in as we thought it was cheap. It's an impressive building and nice to look at, but unless you're really interested in the history, then there isn't much to do. We spent about 5/10 minutes in there.

Line is long but skip the line tickets are a thing. Went twice. Tour was great for learning about the place. Solo was great to take your time and enjoy the spots you want while contemplating eternity within the appropriately named eternal city.

Another great example of Roman architecture. Simply impressive.
Watch out for pickpockets! Particularly young girls wearing bags or backpacks in front to hide things fast.

Came here in July with a tour group. We wanted to to the underground but it sells out very quickly. We chose to do a group tour guide as we wanted to lean as much as we could. Plus there are so many companies that offer audio tours its really affordable (less than 20 euro usually).

Be aware during peak season it is hot and crowded so be patient and prepared. Bring your water and curiosity. We completed the tour and had time to just wonder. Its wild to think of everything that took place here.

There's not much that is "interactive" versus a regular museum so unless you're really interested in touring I'd say opt to focus on the exterior grounds. The ticket prices for a larger group can quickly add up. On the flip side if yu can book the night underground do it!

Overall, an iconic place to absorb how truly ancient the city is and how intertwined the history is in every inch of the city: its culture, architecture, and energy.

Worth a visit at night time and day time! Buy your tickets in advance using the skip the line option to save waiting. Incredible amount to see on the way around once inside. It’s absolutely amazing! The toilet facilities were not great for ladies or gents, sure this is down to the shear volume of people using them though. Lots more to see in the surrounding area.

Beautiful place in Rome. Was just wandering around the town and made it to this piazza. The fountains have such detailed statues with a lot of meaning behind it. There are benches to sit if you want to just admire the art. Not too busy during the day. Recommend giving it a look.

During the brief time I spent at Piazza Navona in Rome, I was impressed by its architectural beauty and lively atmosphere. The imposing buildings, artistic fountains, and bustling street life created an authentic experience of Rome's vibrant culture. I hope to have the opportunity to return in the future to further explore this area and discover all its fascinating aspects.
My trip to the Colosseum was an incredible experience filled with awe and wonder. As I approached the ancient amphitheater, its imposing structure left me speechless. The historical significance of this iconic landmark was evident, and I couldn't wait to step inside and explore its storied past.

However, I must admit that the long queue to enter the Colosseum was a bit challenging. Patience was required as we waited, but I kept reminding myself that such a popular attraction would naturally draw a large crowd. Thankfully, my anticipation only grew stronger, and it made the moment of entry even more rewarding.

Once inside, the grandeur of the Colosseum unfolded before my eyes. The well-preserved ruins and impressive architecture transported me back to ancient Rome, as I could almost hear the echoes of the past events that took place within these walls.

Climbing to the upper levels rewarded me with panoramic views of the city, which were absolutely breathtaking. The Colosseum's rich history came to life through the informative exhibits, providing valuable insights into the lives of gladiators and the cultural significance of this ancient amphitheater.

Despite the initial wait, my trip to the Colosseum was an unforgettable adventure that left me with lasting memories and a profound appreciation for history. If you can endure the queue, this remarkable landmark is a must-visit destination, offering a fascinating journey through time and a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Rome.

Trajan's Column, 113 by architect Apollodore de Damas

This column commemorates Roman emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars (101–102 and 105–106). The column shows 2,662 figures and 155 scenes; Trajan appears in the column 58 times.
This is where you get the tickets, people will try to scam you to buy tickets for double the price to skip the line. Don’t let them do it. There’s also guys trying to sell you water at a reasonable price but it seems kinda strange. Was like 16 euro for one day or 22 euro for 2 day pass.

Visited in January this year but went during the evening and there was a service going on inside so couldn't get in.

Visited again in April during the morning and got entry. As of 03/07/23 there is a €5 euro entry fee. You get given a handheld device for the audio guided tour and there are 16 points. You can explore each part in order.

Be sure to book everything in advance otherwise almost impossible to get in.

The Colosseum is a stunning testament to Rome's grand past. Its grandeur and well-preserved state transport you back to the era of gladiatorial contests. Despite the crowds, the experience is worthwhile. Knowledgeable guides enrich the visit with vivid historical insights. A must-see for any traveler. Highly recommended!

One of the few squares in Rome where you can have a drink or eat something. Great history behind the square what used to be a race track. Different buildings all around on those days but it still has the shape.

They now charge you €5 compared to free of charge earlier and it's a huge queue, so would recommend booking in advance. The architecture is amazing and the monument is worth visiting. It's one of the oldest and still intact structures

All these mega-historical, ancient forums of Rome are shocking with their grandeur. Yes, they are basically turned into ruins, but when you come close, stare and look around, the imagination very quickly restores this couple of hundred square meters in front of the mind's eye, restores it the way we always imagined such places. That is, bewitching, majestic and beautiful with classical buildings.
It’s a beautiful forum just across the caesar’s forum and behind the trajan’s column. In front of the forum, there is a statue of Nerva that I think is also amazing.

This place is amazing! As a self proclaimed history nerd this was a bucket list item checked off. I highly recommend going with part of an organized tour of you don't know how the lines work. We saved waiting through a line that was thousands of people long. We would have been there for hours just to get in without and the tour itself was enjoyable. After the tour we just stayed inside and explored. Wear good walking shoes. It is lots of walking on uneven ground and lots of stairs.

Included in ticket to see Roman Forum and Pallentine Hill (we skipped the crowded Collessium). The ticket office here at Trajan Forum had no queue and didn't charge us a convenience fee like the online website would have. A route with marker signs leads you through to the Senate building and Roman forums after a walk through the basements of historic 16th century houses demolished by a fascist to create a road.

This was our 2nd trip to the Forum & it was to see the newly uncovered ruins of the Fora of Augustus & Trajan and related ruins opposite the Forum of Caesar west of the main road above.
The new area is historically called the Alessandrino Quarter, and recently it's yielded many large finds that demonstrate how much further these forums reached than we previously knew. (I'll include pics, since there are too many things to describe.)

Access to this portion is through a tunnel & raised walkways under the Via Dei Fori Imperiali from the Forum side that we all know. Previously we could all see some of this from street level above - but now you're right down in it & can touch some of it as you pass by. (The new views of the flooring are impressive alone.)
We bought the "Forum Pass Super Pren" for about 17 Euros each, so we could have the most access - which did work out since we could see the 'Super Sites' for free. Research these tickets online; the pickup site was at the Touristation in Piazza Venezia so that made it convenient too.

Trajan's Forum was the last of the Imperial fora to be constructed in ancient Rome. The architect was Apollodorus of Damascus.
Busy, but a nice spot for people watching.

Piazza della Rotonda, the square in front of the Pantheon is packed with people who want to visit the said monument. It's quite a pretty square with cafes where you can enjoy a coffee break after visiting the Pantheon.

The centerpiece of the Piazza della Rotunda is the magnificent Fontana del Pantheon and the Obelisco del Pantheon. If you've come this far to Rome, you're likely skipping through both to visit the world famous Pantheon which I saw in 2011.

The piazza isn't nearly as bustling or busy in the evening hours, nearly devoid of tourists. The Pantheon is closed and the huge doors are locked. But there's still enough to see here that it's worth a visit.

January 2023: Piazza della Rotonda is the square right outside the Pantheon. As the Pantheon’s informal name is the church of Santa Maria Rotonda, that’s how the piazza gets the name.

Piazza outside the Pantheon - Piazza della RotondaThe piazza is not always like the way we see today. The fountain wasn’t built until 1575 and the obelisk was added to it in 1711 under Pope Clement XI.

The square was full of shops and sheds at one point. In the 19th century, the piazza was famous for being a bird market, along side were flower, fruit, vegetables and cake stalls. It’s certainly a busy and hectic market, as described by various travellers and tourist guidebook at the time.
Nice area
Impressive! Great experience
Place from where you can take some great photos of Colosseum while waiting for entry time to Colosseum. We took some great photos but felt like still not satisfied. It was an amazing experience.
The Piazza has the Pantheon on its south side as well as the fountain (Fontana del Pantheon) and obelisk. Lively place at night

The famous plaza in Rome. The fountains are especially beautiful but mind the sun in the noon it can be scorching hot out there.

The restaurants are pretty pricey (of course you have to pay the view) and offer sub par food quality.

But all in all worth a visit.

Don’t forget die other side of the Roman Forum
Les couleurs autour du patio sont bien conservés. Une belle dalle scultée sur la droite en entrant
The view of the pantheon is one of the best in Rome. The restaurants are not really good, but I found a snack bar that served good cappuccino for only 5 euro, which is cheaper than in many other places in Rome. There you can enjoy the view in peace !

Very nice place to sit down for espresso to enjoy the view of Pantheon
In the heart of the city of Rome, close to other great attractions like the Collessiom. You can walk and take photos and enjoy a cup of coffee or nice meal in the area.

Visited La casa dello Scheletro back in October. Also known as the House of Skeletons is probably the first interesting house I saw after entering the site. It’s so named for the skeletal remains found in the house (which have since been moved). Despite the lack of skeletons, it’s worth wandering into the house as two of the rooms have niches decorated with frescoes, especially the blue coloured frescoes in the nymphaeum.
Visited the park back in 2019. The Casa del Tramezzo di Legno building is so called because of the well-preserved wooden screen, which was used to separate the atrium from the main room. The latter houses a low marble table and some seats, although I’m not sure if these were originally part of the house. It’s pretty obvious the house must’ve belonged to a wealthy individual. The walls seem to have been painted in a red theme, but sadly most of it is gone and were left to only imagine what once was. The house is worth a detour if you have time.

Interesting ruins, it’s just a shame there are barriers up all around it and limited signage.

That said, it’s just near the Colosseum so it’s worthwhile walking by for a quick look!

This is a small forum finished during emperor Nerva. Located at Via dei Fori Imperiali, before the forum of August and you can see it from the street.

This is Roma! The eternal city. The greatest street in the city to take everything in. Needs to be enjoyed leisurely imo
