This is a great little space, and bubble of tranquillity within the inner-city, and one of the few green spaces in the local neighbourhood. I often take my two dogs here for a walk (responsibly) as I am retired now and they need to get out, but neither me or the dogs are able to go far these days.

One sad thing about the park is how it has become rather run-down over recent years, there are no longer any litter bins and the sculptures have been vandalised as the park isn't always locked at night now. It could be easily be brought back to it's previous state with a bit of care and help from the community (although we've not be asked!)

Designated as a community garden, for the benefit of the residents and local wildlife of The Cliff Conservation Area. The Cliff consists of a number of historical buildings of significance, particularly it's Tudor and Victorian architecture. Village Street is one of Salford's last, remaining cobbled streets and boasts restored victorian lamposts. The Croft has a number of Preserved Trees, home to protected bats and endangered native birds. Benches consist of a number of carved-out tree-trunks, where you can take in the nature and tranquility in the middle of the inner-city.

Originally some sculptures were commissioned by the European Regional Development Fund, although the plaque of commemoration, and a number of the wood-sculptures have since been damaged or vandalised. I live local and have watched this space slowly deteriorating and often poorly maintained, used as a place for fly tipping and anti-social behaviour at times - but this the fault of those responsible for its upkeep, and the lack of communication/co-ordination with the local community. It is otherwise a breath of fresh air and a valuable space which the surrounding area needs.

Planning applications have recently been submitted to build a block of flats on the garden, despite a minor of notable objections including one from The Environment Agency regarding the serious threat from flooding in the area, the unknowns state of the antiquated sewer system in the area and situation of the geology under the location.
