Beale Street Smokehouse BBQ

I recently visited Beale St. BBQ and had an excellent experience. The food was fantastic, living up to the restaurant's barbecue promise. I tried the brisket sandwich Memphis style, which was a standout dish. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, demonstrating the kitchen's skill in slow-cooking and seasoning.

The service matched the quality of the food. Our server was outstanding - friendly, attentive, and helpful. Their positive attitude added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

My husband and I were passing through the area and decided to check this place out. We tried a combo platter just to get a taste of some of their meats, and all of them were excellent! It was so good that we drove an hour from home just to go back again! I especially like the pulled pork and baked beans. You can't go wrong with some corn bread on the side either! Great place for BBQ!

I really wanted to like this place. I was excited about the possibility of a place where my husband and I could go to get some good BBQ and listen to live music from time to time. We came for lunch on Father's Day. I kept it simple and ordered a burger, and my husband ordered a 3 meat platter. We waited over an hour. Our server only checked on us once. When the food finally arrived, the sides were so small they looked as if they belonged on a kids' menu. They fries that came with my burger were slightly warm as if they had been waiting under a warmer. The burger itself was almost entirely pink when I asked for "well done." You have one shot to impress me, and I am beyond disappointed!!!

Update: NO ONE told us that it would be a long wait. Had we known, we would have gone somewhere else. Until I got out of my seat to find my server due to my undercooked burger, the only people that had spoken to us were the young lady who seated us and our server.

This is a great place for BBQ, especially the ribs: very meaty, and perfectly done. Choose to have them done wet or dry because they have six different sauces you can play with right on your table. Excellent side dishes...I had mashed red potatoes and mac & cheese, my partner had green beans and collard greens which she said were the best she's ever had. Everything is home made and our server said the collard greens were the owner's Grandmother's home recipe. Great corn bread that comes with the entrées. The sides may look small but they were plenty for us. Good choices of draught beers.
We're coming back for the weekend entertainment. I'm a bluesman.

We liked it here. We got the dry ribs and added our sauce. I liked the mustard sauce the best. The cornbread was moist and delicious with the yummy butter dripping on it. The collard greens were the best I've ever had. We even took some home with us because I knew I'd be having a craving for them later. I could have even made my entire meal with a big ole plate of them and nothing else. Although....well...THE RIBS. Our ribs were all meat...thick and deliciously seasoned just right. Perfect actually. The draft beer selection delighted me and had lots of creative choices. Good job to whoever orders the beers. This was our first time there but won't be our last. I just love it when we jump into a new place and it turns out to be this great. (It was also highly recommended by a local lady down the ways whose roadway shoulder near her house we quietly pulled off into while we were safely googling for 'ribs' in the area and she came out to see who the heck we were...ha ha.....really friendly people in these there part of the woods we found out...who like ribs too and didn't steer us wrong.)

An hour drive for an anniversary lunch. We were at the old location some years ago and have been meaning to get back.

The new location is very nice and spacious and the food is excellent as ever. The collard greens are awesome and the Memphis Gold house sauce is fantastic.

Stopped for a late lunch with husband. 4 stars because service was excellent. Collards had very little flavor but the vinegar sauce added helped. The ribs had a great Smokey flavor but were overly salty and a little tough. I couldn’t finish them. My husband liked the Mac n cheese but his ribs were also tough. I have had the collards here before and loved them but now they’re different. I have also had great brisket and meatloaf here. Next time I’ll stick to that and skip the ribs.
