Very good

The statue has no detailed text explaining its context

Positioned in a quiet side street but in the centre of central London it provokes much reflection on the battles the Regiment fought in.
The sound and fury, the death and destruction wreaked by and on to the tank soldiers become very close in the almost silent place chosen.

This statue stands in tribute to the entire Royal Tank Regiment of the British Army.
The statue is larger than life and depicts a five man crew of a British WW2 era tank, the Comet. The entire crew are outside of their tank (which does not feature), standing in line but looking off to their left. Each are wearing their battle uniform and each crewman also holds something in their hand, the only things I could make out were machine gun, gun sight, field glasses and a pair of binoculars.
A fine monument to heroes. It's located in a street behind embankment and shame it does not occupy a more prominent location.

As a member of the RTR for 40 years, it is a fitting memorial for all Tank Crews. Fear Naught

Saw the monument whilst walking past the hotel. Such a magnificent memorial.

Beautiful well crafted work of art. Happen to see this by chance and am glad I did.
