I used to work here under Mike. Have always loved the courses here. The Lake is more wide open and long eith yhe Creek being more of a shot makers course (shoter and narrower).

Was a member for about a year before canceling. Our neighbors warned us about joining when we first moved into the community and we didn’t listen.
Dining - Service was incredibly slow and the food was far from impressive at the restaurant. We took my mother-in-law to the Christmas brunch and the food was picked over, nothing looked fresh. The waitress never got our drink orders so I had to get up and ask her for drinks and silverware while she played on her phone in the corner. After attempting to eat the food, we just decided to leave. Again, I had to get up and find the waitress to get our check because she never came back to the table.
Golf - Courses are decent. Cart paths are a mess with huge bumps and holes all over. As members, we are able to use the driving range for free but every time we went there, there were no balls available to use so we had to go back to the clubhouse and ask for them. One employee named Kai, harassed my husband more than four times within 30 minutes asking if we were members because we don’t look like typical members.
Gym - The gym is OK. The ceilings are incredibly low so it feels claustrophobic And if there’s more than three people in the gym area you’re kind of at capacity.
Pool - We never use the pool because it was always delayed opening and it was a common complaint within the community.
Gatehouse - Every once in a while, you will get a competent Gate House employee that will take your information down and write a proper pass for your visitor if you’re lucky. We would call in passes for contractors to come work on the house they would be turned away because they didn’t take the information down. Also, the back gate for residents is almost always broken.
Overall, I do not recommend this establishment or community.

Played the Lake course today was in very good shape. The greens were great and rolling smooth.
Staff was very accommodating.

Course was nothing more than ok. It’s Not one of the better courses in the Pinehurst Sanford area.
Slow play is a huge issue. Get ready for 3 hour 9s and 6 hour rounds. No starters or rangers on the course. Lots of yelling that can be heard across 3 holes. If you are looking for a Pinehurst golf experience, this is not the place.
What is wild is that they charge $150 on the weekend in March. This puts it in the Tobacco Road price tier and TR is 100000000x better course and experience.
Will not return.
I am currently writing this as we wait on hole 9. We started 2 hours and 55 minutes ago.

Today's adventure brings us to @carolinatracecc just outside of Sanford, NC. This is in a gated community and is made up of "The Lake" and "The Creek" courses. I played the Lake course.
Initial Impression: When you enter off the road, you check in at the Guard Shack. The female security officer who greeted me was full of energy and smiles. She was excited to be at work today. It's a hilly and twisting road to the clubhouse. The pro shop is located below the clubhouse here. I was greeted by an extremely positive and humorous older gentleman by the name of Scott. He is the cart person and starter this day. The positive interaction didn't stop there as the gentleman in the pro shop was just as kind and welcoming as everyone I've met so far. Sorry, I forgot to obtain his name.
Course: Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. It's not a cakewalk. As other courses in Tn that I've played, it's wet and dormant right now. The greens were in immaculate condition, but the slowest I've played so far. That's no fault of theirs because of the time of year.
There's quite a few large bunkers here and some water that absolutely comes into play. The elevation changes here are more prominent than at Anderson Creek. Tee shots require some accuracy so as not to strike the many houses, the course cuts between.
The fairways were soft and gave no rollout. I, however, did not have a single ball plug in the fairway. Bunkers were firm wet sand, which made it easy to play from. Learn how to use your wedges bounce. Wind was just as strong as it was yesterday. Two to three clubs if you're into its teeth. Giving up 30 yards off the driver is rough even if you hit the middle.
I was struggling so bad today with the irons, wedges, and my putter. I called it quits after 9 holes. All due in part to frustration. I wasn't going to let my temper overshadow a great course. I was the only person on the course until I hit the 7th hole.
Final: I will definitely recommend this course to anyone. I want to play it during the summer months. Then, I can fully take in what it has.
