Forgetful manager on duty, very chatty, not paying attention to guests chosen drinks, and pushing bottles. Food substandard, not worth the money. The toilets questionable, no attention paid to the cleanliness. The status of the toilets seemed to have had implications on the management of the restaurant.
I recently had an absolutely terrible dining experience at this establishment.
Firstly, the toilets were in an appalling state, with a complete lack of cleanliness, which seemed to have leaked into the kitchen. The duty manager seemed more interested in pushing wine sales than ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This was evident from the wine glasses being filled excessively to 2/3 and the constant pressure to order more bottles. My request to the waiter to ease up was blatantly ignored.
To make matters worse, the manager/waiter mixed up the sparkling and still water and showed a rude attitude when politely asked to exchange the glass. Furthermore, the food was abysmal. Both the bread and the fish had a distinctive burned taste, making them very unpleasant. When I raised this issue, the manager took the plate away and returned it much later, cold and still inedible. This level of negligence and disregard for customer satisfaction is completely unacceptable.
Adding insult to injury, I did not receive a receipt despite my request, and I fear we were overcharged. From a food hygiene standpoint, the situation was deeply concerning and raised serious doubts about your establishment's standards.
We chose your restaurant for a 50th birthday celebration based on high recommendations, but this experience was far from those expectations. The waiter's attitude and actions effectively ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.
Given the circumstances, a visit at the Family Restaurant would have been more enjoyable. Can not recommend this cheap eatery.

Loved the experience after many years and great past memories. I visited for lunch last week and it was truly exceptional. Beautiful menu with a focus on local produce backed by a solid wine list. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. The setting is just perfect especially for lunch with a bright and airy atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to coming back when I’m next in Adelaide.
Really good food and location. We chose the $95 chef menu. Otherwise if you select meals you will be well over the $95, therefore I suggest you just select the chef menu.
I highly suggest this as you get to taste it all, it is 4 courses and takes 2 hours of sitting.
It isn't loud so you can enjoy the river side, and the windows are open on a good day.
Bookings are easy to get, but i would suggest getting in early to reserve a window side table.
Parking is tricky during uni timws, but you can get riverside parking which is around 100m away.
I highly suggest this as you get to taste it all, it is 4 courses and takes 2 hours of sitting.

We had a wonderful experience at Jolley’s Boathouse. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was amazing. We did the chefs menu. We thoroughly enjoyed Carolina looking after us. Her knowledge of the menu was fantastic and her bubbly nature was refreshing. She’s an asset to the restaurant.
