This place is absolutely magical. It’s free to visit and located on the other side of the Metropolitan Museum. I suggest visiting this two places on the same day. If you need to relax go to the book store there. It has wonderful atmosphere. Live video is available on my Facebook page 🔥

Beautiful, classic, and historic NYC building housing the French cultural consulate. Great bookstore and frequent events.

Stanford White designed this $48 MIL 1907 masterpiece mansion, now The Cultural Services of the French Embassy, headquartered in the former Payne Whitney residence on Fifth Ave. See map project for all of Stanford White's works. If you can help, I'd appreciate any comments or additions. I envision this as a collaboration. Info is gleaned from many sources, but STANNY, The Gilded Life of Stanford White (1989), by Paul R. Baker is the main source and THE definitive book on Stanny's life and works. Leland Roth's 1978 MM&W Building list is also a prime source.
