Restaurante La Catalana

Food quality was a solid 2 at best. I ordered pork loin and goat cheese with a wine sauce and received pieces of pork shoulder not the loin that was too tough to chew and the goat cheese was a bad brie. My wife ordered Catalan Chicken with prune pine nuts you know ,the classic. It was too salty to eat not sweet and savory that we have both had so many times. The tomato bread was based on a pop up toaster packaged white bread with some tomato sauce. With so many wonderful restaurants in with in 300 feet of La Catalana chances are you will have a better meal at any of them. I had lived in Barcelona years ago and always loved the Barcelona kitchen. So sorry for the necessary negative review but improvement and changes are needed.

My worst experience. We sat down with friends after a tiring day. The food came quickly after ordering. I told my wife the rice is not on the plate. Which he repeated a little louder to the waiter. The waiter came back with the coffee cup of rice and yelled that he only has two legs and what do you think and he also has four children, but only two legs. Everybody shocked, I worked 4 years in the restaurant business, but I have never seen such arrogance. My wife started crying. I asked the two-legged man to come back and apologize to her. After several calls, he only returned and announced in a jerky way no more English. This was the moment when we should have live, but because of the 3 children (one of that already crying), our guest decided not to go anywhere.
We ate the poison that this guy made!

Just came across this restaurant when we walked by, did not disappoint at all.

Food is decent, price is really good, wine is good. Service is fast and friendly. Had a great time to kick off our Spain trip.

Special menu quite fair for the price you pay. This includes a glass of wine, dessert, coffee, in addition to the starter and main course. I chose the green salad, with fried egg and bacon as a starter. And for the main course cod with potatoes. Both were well served, a reasonable amount and great in flavor. It's worth the visit

Fabulous food, great value, friendly staff. The best value we have had for a meal during 4 weeks in Spain. Good location with outdoor seating. We ordered from the 12€ set menu. The paella and grilled hake were fabulous. Worth the visit, we would definitely come back again.

Great little place tucked in off the main road. We are very early for Spain, and the waiter was excellent! Taking the time to explain our meal and just nice conversation. Food came out quickly, I had a steak my wife had a pasta plate (Napolotano) and both were delicious. I had the sangria and she had a rosé both were excellent! We had café con leche and wonderful desserts!! The check came and it was priced right! A great way to start our stay in Barcelona!
