It’s a lovely spot spoiled only by people not picking up after their dogs. There’s a bigger dog poo problem here than at other nearby reservoirs like Dovestone. Beautiful place though with a reasonable sized free car park

Little gem where you don’t expect to find one. Nice place for a stroll round, bit of rubbish lying about from people who don’t care. Lovely spot to fish possibly.

Amazing Little Local Walk with routes to suite all types of abilities. One of our favourite spots for summer walks

Stunning country park with a forest and reservoir. Not as big a walk as Dovestones so it's better for a casual stroll with the kids or pets.
Beware, if taking young children, there were many people with dogs off their leads.

Went for a walk and we could see a family of deer, very cute. The paths are between the trees, until you reach the smallest lake, it's really beautiful and quiet. There's a bar near where we parked because we couldn't find the real parking and we took a road that is private and therefore only for pedestrians. But you can enjoy a few drinks there with nice view 🙌🏻 Hope to come back soon!

This is a small park area just outside Oldham town centre. The main attraction is the river that flows into the reservoir. There are a few different routes around the park some easier than others although most aren't very taxing either way. For a bit of an extra challenge while walking you can off the be beaten path and although this isn't going to present too difficult a walk you can get a bit extra out of this.
There is a really easily accessable car park that leads on to the main route around the park, and although it might not be the easiest, it is possible to get around this path with a pram or even a wheelchair.
The other benefit of going to strinesdale is the small ice-cream and waffle shop at the end of the raid leading in. You can get a coffee here to take out or sit in and order some food.
The size of the park isn't going to overwhelm anyone and unless your local you're not likely to make many return visits.
Overall, not a bad couple of hours out with dog, but if you are taking the dog please be aware that there is a bridal path for horses.

Beautiful reservoir walk.Popular with dog walkers. You can make this as challenging as you feel up to. Gently stroll round the smaller reservoir, or walk up to the upper reservoir. Plenty of benches to stop and rest if needed.

Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.
