This part of Heritage Park is beautiful, super family friendly or to enjoy on a solo walk. The butterfly garden north of the nature center attracts many 🦋

2 stars because my 3 year old niece really enjoyed the nature center. But to me it was depressing- all of the live animals are kept separate in very small cages/aquariums. The turtle just kept hitting into each of the sides of the tiny aquarium like it was trying to get out. Worker told me they get 20-30 minutes outside “every now and then”. It seemed like a very low quality of life for those animals and I would not go back for that reason.

There were day camp programs going on already and we went before Memorial Day. So it was busy outside, but not in the nature center itself. There was so much to see! This is a large building! We started by looking at the animals, petting a rabbit for a second before it hopped off and looking at the fish and turtles and snakes. We bird watched for a few minutes which was still long enough to see several kinds of birds. The displays have movable wood doors/panels to reveal more information. The stuffed animal display included a huge variety. We found some play food in a tent/picnic area pretend play spot. There were exploration bins they called "makerspace bins." The kayak with stuffed animals and the nature library were the biggest draws for my 3.5 year old 😊 Love it and hope to return many times!

Very cute and fun nature center! Free and open to the public. Lots to look at! Small animals/reptiles on display. There is space & tables for kids to sit , draw , read , and explore. They have a bird watching room as well tucked in the corner. So nice!

Awesome nature center with no fee and lots of things to see for little kids! They even have live animals. The nature trails outside are great. Perfect for a quick little adventure.

Fabulous nature trails and wildlife area, great for any age group.

Best for bird watching. I always go there and see interesting birds. Many common. Also there's some cool taxidermy models of animals you can look at. Theres also aquatic life, a rabbit, and rats! Definitely visit it for party's, and interesting things. 10/10, definitely gonna visit again.
