Giardino Sambuy

Der kleine Park befindet sich direkt vor dem Bahnhof. Ab und zu gibt es hier ein paar Stände mit italienischen Köstlichkeiten. Sonst eher dreckig und nicht die beste Gegend.

Pleasant park within Piazza Carlo Felice, the square opposite Porta Nuova train station. Small, but a good place to have a rest from the hustle & bustle of the city.

Always dirty even though they clean it every other morning and because it’s not well light, it can be insecure.
I think that something people see as soon as they step down from the train should look better taken care of.

Sembra incredibile ma questo giardino si trova difronte alla stazione di Porta Nuova. Il progetto fù affidato all'architetto Jean Pierre Barrillet Deschamps e realizzato nel 1861. Nel 1926 venne dedicato al sindaco di Torino, Bertone Baldo di Sambuy. Il giardino è tutto recintato. Al suo interno si trovano piante alcune enormi con delle radici spettacolari, fontane e statue dedicate ad Edmondo De Amicis, a Massimo D'Azeglio e a Ernesto di Sambuy. Ci si possono trovare banchetti di prodotti artigianali. Un posto grazioso dove poter fermarsi un pò.

Giardino Sambuy is right across the street from Puorta Nuova, Turin's main train station. It's a very attractively designed public space with a gorgeous water fountain and impressive looking trees. If you're visiting, keep in mind that, in view of its location, the garden attracts a number of vagrants.
