THE DINING RooM was one of my lesser experiences in the city and one I wouldn't recommend. In a nutshell:
+ food presentation
- food taste & preparation
- food quantity
- price
- service

Of 4 people at the table, only one was pleased with the food and the others either didn't finish or didn't particularly enjoy it. At a pricetag of 40-110€ per serving this is totally unacceptable.
I ordered a steak, medium rare, but got it more medium or medium well (hardly pink inside, nothing rare about it) so, given the high pricetag I decided to send it back; something I usually never do. I believe the restaurant is not worth visiting at this pricetag. If you want good steak, go to Henriks, East, Clouds, Theos or other good restaurants in Hamburg.

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. We eagerly anticipated our evening only to be bitterly let down. We waited for over 2.5 hours for our main course, completely ignored by the staff. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. The lamb was incredibly dry, and the mashed potatoes tasted like powdered mix. The truffle in the mashed potatoes tasted like artificial flavoring at best. Additionally, the spinach we ordered never came. Throughout the entire evening, the staff offered no communication or apology. Spending nearly 400 euros for 4 people and enduring over 3 hours (2.5 hours of pure waiting) for a meal was simply unacceptable. Save your money and skip this place.

Food that is not worth your money🫤
I ordered a duck breast (39€) + fried sweet potato (7€) duck was firm and the sweet potato was very much overcooked like chips. I wanted a soft sweet potato that melts in my mouth and got a lot of oil... my friend had lobster soup, it was incredibly salty, it was impossible to eat (we paid 50% of the cost) but it ruined her evening. I was upset by how the furniture looked, tattered tables and accessories, very dirty floor and there were crumbs from previous guests on the chairs... an institution of this level cannot have such sloppiness. But very beautiful design, in a beautiful hotel. I recommend taking a duck for two 1.8 kg- it is profitable and tasty 👌

Most disappointing meal I've had in Hamburg and not worth it. The location is great and since I live around the corner, I thought I'd try the gourmet summer menu for two. With two lobster salads on the side, a glass of champagne, a cocktail, a bottle of water and a wine pairing for just one person, we ended up paying around 250 euros. The four-course meal took 3 hours, not because it was so good, but because the service was so slow. The staff was generally unenthusiastic and rarely showed any real interest.

The food was mediocre at best, with many bland components, although it was nicely presented. There was almost no lobster in the lobster salad and the promised quail praline was just a quail egg, the caviar pearls as an amuse bouche had been in the gelling agent for so long that they were too thick and not seasoned enough, the swordfish was so incredibly tough and overcooked that it was inedible. We sent it back and they just added another piece of overcooked, tough fish that was equally inedible. The steak was also inedible. Terrible amateur cooking. The wine for the second course was served 30 minutes before the dish arrived and was warm by the time it arrived.

Apart from the decoration of the room, which is very nice, I cannot recommend anything.

Pretty poor. €19 for 3 oysters but (as you can see from the images) not treated carefully. Lobster sauce cooked at the table cold and was raw alcohol .

My meal was served piping hot, and the Dining room has excellent service. Started with a Charlie Chaplin cocktail followed by caviar appetiser chilled, with very warm freshly made blinis, a side of creme fraiche and Housemade white chocolate, exceptional flavor combinations. With guidance I finally ordered some comfort food, Weiner Schnitzel with the Zimt rotkohl and gruyere potato gratin cake, accompanied by cranberry sauce and a really nice and steaming hot cream based sauce. The best part of my meal was the exceptional care and conversation I had with restaurant staff and hotel greeters by the door. Lovely folks. I will definitely return here when I'm back in town. Thank you!
