I would rate the Cameroon embassy in Ottawa, Canada, with zero star if I could. The receptionist's behavior was extremely disappointing and impolite. I'm unsure if they dislike their job, but their attitude was quite unpleasant. It would be beneficial for the embassy to consider hiring more courteous staff. It's essential to remember that their primary responsibility is answering phone calls, and there's no reason to treat callers rudely. In my opinion, there's a need for a change in personnel as the current situation is quite unacceptable.

Sometimes you read negative comments and your perspective about an institution change, please do the right thing, provide the right documents and show up on time. It's simple follow the protocol and you won't have any issue.
I recently went to the high commission to process my Passport and my experience there was impeccable, I and others were attended to respectfully, services were provided to us in an orderly manner. No hassle, when you meet the requirements and you are on good standing then you get the services you deserve. I enrolled for my passport within 2weeks I received it without any issues.
I wish I could recall the name of one of the ladies whom I was fortunate to connect to whenever I called she was very helpful, I was actually in a desperate state she was able to communicate politely with me and walk me through their procedures and she called me to inform that my passport was ready and I should expect it within 2 days and I did receive it on time. Please let us not always criticize with out checking if we follow the right protocols and blame others for no reason. I will like to extend my appreciation to all the staff at the High Commissions. Please keep doing your job and remain attentive and supportive to all.

This is what is really going on, I'm very sorry to say.
If you were born and raised in Cameroon and are now a citizen of a western country, good luck on getting your Visa approved, especially if you are a woman.
You will definitely need to call your local MP's office for assistance getting a Visa, as we had to back in 2010.
Our then Federal MP Bev Shipley made a call to the Embassy
and got approval for the Visa right away.
The people who work there don't like the fact that you were smart enough to make the decision to leave this poor
" Third World Country " for a better life in North America.
This is called being " Low In Your Shoes " and when a call comes in from the Canadian Government, well that automatically shows
that you must be a " Very Important Person ", and in turn makes them feel important.
Visa Approved !!
My advice to the staff at the Cameroon Embassy in Ottawa
is to use your Canadian connections during your stay as a representative to the Cameroon Government to help your country
in what ever small way you can.
We don't think we are better than you , but if you treat us with disrespect, you are for sure going to get similar reviews like the one I just wrote.

I work for a local courier company and we do a lot of deliveries to the Embassy because they wont physically deal with actual citizens of Cameroon. They force people, who a lot of times aren't from here, to hire courier companies to pick up and deliver documents.

Imagine not being able to go into your own home country's embassy while abroad and being forced to hire some local courier company to do anything regarding your passport.

I've had Cameroon citizens wait outside the embassy while a courier literally goes in the door, grabs the documents, comes outside and hands it to the citizen. They won't even open the door for them.

It's crazy to me and I feel bad for all the people who get the run around from their own embassy.

Very rude and disrespectful staffs especially the ladies. So I called a
month after to know if they could send back my passport the lady spoke with me on phone for 30sec and hang up on me ,with no solution. I was like Gosh
And when I recall she was like you should call back around 1pm . She couldn't even excuse herself. The black lady with nappy hair is very disrespectful and rude 😤

Waiting rooms can be made accessible during cold seasons rather than having people freeze up outside. Perhaps they could open the office door at exactly 9am instead of 45-1hr later.
Moreover the system could even be made better so people don't even get to go there, we're atleast in the 21st century.

Even Canada that’s one of the biggest countries in the world, the embassy is so polite, very attentive & helpful. But no Cameroon embassy is the worst customer service experience I ever had. Firstly they don’t know how to communicate properly & also the English is so bad,yet they talk to you like you begging them for money. The lady who picked up the phone needs some training on how to properly talk to someone.
