De werfkring is a conveniently located in the city centre by the Oudegracht with a cozy interior. Everyone who works there are so friendly, the food came very quick with a big portion, and the restaurant is spacey. They only serve soup and/or meal of the day, which you only find out once you're in the restaurant. This makes the eating experience really nice as it feels like you're eating in the dining room of their home.

Came on the off chance with my son after finding limited vegan options in the area. What a great find! Not fancy but really friendly, welcoming and able to adapt the offerings to make the meal vegan. Absolutely delicious and our plates were fully emptied. Nice to see such a place really busy on a midweek evening.

This place is absolutely wonderful, definitely one of the most special spots that I know of, in Utrecht and in general. It’s a very peaceful friendly sphere. They cook something new everyday and you can order a mixed plate of the different things (usually some combo of 2 grains and different veggie stirfries/stews/sauces and salad). You can ask specifically for a vegan plate, most of the time only one of the sauces or something isn’t vegan but everything is always vegetarian. They also always have a really tasty soup of the day! Their desserts aren’t vegan yet unfortunately but she’s working on it!

We waited such a long time to get our food and drinks after ordering! There wasn’t enough staff for such a tiny kitchen. Canal views were nice. Prices also seemed very high - 11 euro for a pancake!

Great place to taste different vegetarian food. Hosts are very kind and do all they can to make you happy. We ate outside on the canal and it was pouring down rain ... Still we kept it dry under their big umbrellas! Very tasty food... I warmly recommend this place! They don't sell alcohol, so of course is less crowded than many other restaurants/pub... But I actually appreciated this a lot!
