Basic purpose was to move raw materials (cargo) from upper Sub Continent India to other parts of world
After independence of Pakistan it was renamed by Karachi Port which is regulated by Karachi Port Trust
It is not only active Port but also have traditional and historical background
Government must renovate it with full force
Recommended to visit, specially who likes 👍the Historical Places
