Previous reviews about deliberately botched mobile deposits are correct. The app shows a crop field, but the image submitted to their servers is cropped an additional 20%. Point-and-shoot-and-hope-and-wait is the name of the game.

This allows UVACCU to claim your deposit was submitted incorrectly and charge you a multitude of additional fees. If you're VERY lucky and are able to submit an acceptable mobile deposit, you can expect to wait 4-5 business days before those funds are available. DO NOT set up any kind of autopay, or use your UVACCU debit card as your payment method for any kind of recurring subscription.

Don't expect to be able to use your debit card with Google Wallet or Apple Pay either. UVACCU will waste hours of your time routing you through a third-party credit card handler (God knows what this company does with your banking information) before Google or Apple inform you this bank is too out-of-date to be compatible with their service. The people running this bank would be embarrassed if they weren't raking in so much money in fictitious fees.

All of the branches of this bank are great. The people are nice and very personable. I have done all my banking there since I was a teenager.

The Mobile Deposit is a hit or miss or Hail Mary at best. My clear iPhone 11 photos were very clear and accepted as such but never deposited . I found out 7 days later that the copy THEY made of the deposited check was distorted almost beyond recognition. They never notified me and blamed me for their faulty copy of the check. VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE UVACCU1

The Arlington BLVD location service is not good they are not nice people when you go inside need to fix.

Good quick service, easy online banking options, many ATMs.

UVA CCU is my local bank. They have always been super helpful and friendly when I've gone in to deposit money in my account or when I have questions about my account. When I accidentally overdrew my account because I misjudged the delay on depositing cash to the ATM, they were understanding and waived the fee. When I went to talk to someone about opening a business account they were very bad at communication and seemed to talk to me like I was an idiot which I did not appreciate.

I've dealt with at least a half a dozen different banks, and multiple branches of each. UVA Community Credit Union is one of the two best banks I've ever dealt with, along with another credit union. And this branch has always been good - very short wait times, friendly and helpful staff, convenient location. My only complaint is the access is only on one side of one street, but talk about #firstworldproblems, right?
