Restaurante Cofrade Entre Varales

A very friendly family restaurant where food and service count as kings. Malaga at its very best. There will surely be many more just as good. Some may be better but you won't go wrong starting out here. Five big stars in every category and richly deserved too.

Dreadful experience here this afternoon…despite waiting by a table outside whilst the previous occupants paid up, the waiter us (4 of us) that a Spanish couple were there first and basically asked us to leave. This caused upset to one of our party that suffers serious anxiety and resulted in her taking off.
We felt prejudiced as we are English and the restaurant didn’t seem to care about losing a table of 4. A very poor show by the staff, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for English/British tourists. I rarely leave 1 star or negative reviews, but this experience was very disappointing.

Absolutely bad experience as we waited a lot just to get a wine. Croquetes were served iced...some of the food was good but still the service and the staff was really UNPLEASANT!

Nice tapas restaurant! Went with Malagueños (my bf and our friends) and we enjoyed our food! Filled up our hungry stomachs! 🙂 Would definitely recommend to try their ensalada russo, lagrimitas de pollo and that potato with cheese and I think they said with hog meat. 😅 We also got “camperos” but ate them quickly so I didn’t get photos!

The place is excellent for breakfast. They have the traditional "pitufos" and other sandwiches. Conveniently located. Just a walking distance from our hotel and main streets.

Went there this summer with friends for a bite. When we got there the inside was empty save for a couple dining in a corner. We ordered some drinks and food. It started to past the fifteen minute mark when the drinks arrived. The place started to gradually fill up and our food arrived one dish at a time, at ten minute intervals. Some of the tables that were filled after were served before we did. I believe some people even finished before we even got our full order.

Absolutely appalling. I am from Malaga myself and this is unacceptable wherever you go. In the end we asked for the bill of whatever we ate and left (apparently that's the custom in Spain). Some of us were starving and had to go to a pizza corner to eat something. This is because only half of us got our food in the end.

I will recommend staying away from that place.
