I grew up with this style white beans dishes and found this place on a mission to hunt down that homemade taste (although it’s quite popular among locals). This wasn’t it either but something better actually! Amazingly full taste that you can find at lokanta’s of this nature only 😋 Go for the classics and don’t bother to compliment the food, i.e. they know it’s the best 🙃

Fasuli is a long standing eatery that sits right across from the concrete Museum of Modern Art. Crisp white table cloths and formally dressed waiters give the place an established atmosphere.
Server Jamal introduced himself and efficiently took our order. The ground floor dining room was packed during lunch. Yet the servers dance to a tune that effectively made everything work.
The lentil soup was very good.
So was the meatballs and the grilled chicken.
The pickled vegetables paired well with the meats.
One thing… in the menu, mashed potatoes was supposed to be included but sadly this didn’t materialise. All together … it was a lunch that didn’t disappoint. Easy. Good. Clean.

Been coming here for years. Consistent old style Turkish lokantasi (home style Turkish food) restaurant in Karaköy.

Has a ample range of dishez to satisfy most palettes. You can eat quickly here or take your time. Most lokantas in Istanbul are quite small so there is an urgency to the service to eat and leave quickly like a canteen. Fasuli is big enough so you dont have to rush if you dont want to.

The polite and attentive waiters in their white shirts and black ties give the place a nostalgic feel. Its a bit old inside but its clean. Most lokantas in Istanbul are dated anyway. Thats part of the charm of many of them.

Come here to try some simple staple home style Turkish dishes. Its not about the presentation. You get what you pay for at Fasuli. Good value overall 👍🏻

We highly recommend this restaurant. The food is tasty and typical and the prices very afforfable. The waiters are kind, smiling and helpful. We felt cared for in a warm, cosy, simple and friendly place. I definetely want to go back and taste some more of their specialities 🥰

The Best beans (Fasouliya), meat and rice meal I have ever had.
Creamy, tasty, well seasoned, melting meat.
Soup was excellent.
Service is great and fast.
A must try for rustic traditional food lovers.

We got a recommendation to try this restaurant from our local friends who live in Istanbul. I was sceptical at first since all they serve is white beans, but I am so glad we tried it. The food was very fresh and delicious. We opted for homemade pickles ( our friend’s recommendation), vegetarian beans, cracked wheat , rice, yogurt drinks and tea. Everything was made to perfection. The restaurant is full of jars of pickles. It was spotless.
