From the trailhead on Liberty Hill Lane there is an easy 6 mile loop on the old and current AT from which you can head over to the overlook. The trail is wide and not too rocky. Easier to park here than at the access point across 50 but only 5 or so spots available.

Incredible views and well worth the hike. On a clear day you can see the outlines of Reston/Tysons to the East!

I walk up here a few times a week. Right now the Verbesina are amazing. It's a great set of trails but becoming very popular, especially on the weekends.

Well worth the two mile trek uphill. Gorgeous views to get to this point. And the conservatory is beyond description - wildflowers, wild berries, and views.

Fantastic day, took a picnic. Fun hike, nice hills, everyone was giving everyone else good spacing, lots of masks (About 80% on, or would out one on to pass on trail).

Worth the hike and a beautiful view down into the Piedmont of Virginia. We missed the blossoms in the highlands by about a week or two but the weather was perfect middle of April.

Absolutely worth the climb on a nice day. If you can manage the temperature swings, dawn and dusk offer glorious light and better photo options, it's so exposed that you can get pretty harsh highlights in the middle of the day. Aside from all that, the Overlook is a great reminder of the types of landscapes that make Virginia beautiful.
