Traditional souq for when you need to relax and window shop the old souq.

Nice place heritage of halwa

Small souq with shop of sweets and traditional clothes

Skip unless you just want to visit some slums in Bahrain. Most store fronts are closed and the whole neighborhood is inhabited by South Asian people (the workers of Bahrain), so the only places open are Indian, Bangladeshi or Pakistani stores. Nothing about Bahrain. They also have a walk tour marked by lamp posts (supposedly following the pearl route) but every stop on the walk is closed and half of them do not even have signs. I crossed real slums following this path across the souq, terrible.

Not fully operational
Some markets and a mall under construction
Some markets and a mall under construction

All close, probably due to covid

Traditional market.... lot of buzz.... visited during afternoon... every second shop sells sweets.... happy buzz around... but parking is difficult to find... Must visit pearl museum... beautiful architectural gem... though no pearls r on display now.
