Taste of Thailand Yishun

Was there for dinner on Monday night about 8pm. Was welcomed by the staff there and was immediately seated as there was no crowd. The dishes came relatively quick from the time we placed our orders. Maybe about 5-10mins, not even exaggerating. The taste of the food was not compromised and everything taste good. Will come back again.

Have been eating their fried fish since young and the quality is still there. Crispy, yummy, and tastes good. Other dishes are good too. Restaurant prices (about $50 for 3 dishes and 3 drinks - depending on what was ordered). Good service too.

Note to myself:

Pineapple fried rice - my family likes it. We got large.
Tom yum soup - sour and sweet. We prefer it less sweet, but we still like it!
Fish is very crispy, comes with a very nice sweet and sour sauce!
Squid is crispy. I think people who like squid might like it. But for my family, a small portion is sufficient.
The fried stuff is nice mostly because it is crispy, tastewise is ok.

Honey chicken - was decent.

Vegetables - the potato leaves were not cooked to our liking (not sure if it's not fresh or too watery), we probably will order another vege next time

Value for money for : portion and price, speed (they serve amazingly fast), comfortable environment (air con).

Will I come again? Ofcourse! Fuss-free and good price (=

Nice fried fish, affordable price n fast. Service is always good. Friendly staff n always a discount when payment is made to make people happy.

This Thai restaurant often has a queue in the evening, but overall it offers good value for money. I tried their fried squid, which was decent, and the Thai fried rice suited my taste as well. The service is standard and the environment clean and tidy. If you like Thai cuisine, this place is a nice choice

Not sure if I will bias with this post as I have grown up eating at this place many times. Will always order these same dishes whenever we visit this place with the family (honey chicken, deep fried calamari, pineapple fried rice, tom yam soup). Also ordered the steamed cos and sambal sweet potato leaves to complete the meal. The cod and vegetables are at the standard of most zichar stalls out there. The staffs there are friendly too!

The deep fried calamari was nicely fried without the squid being rubbery. It goes well with the accompanying green seafood sauce. The pineapple fried rice is also nicely done with generous pork floss toppings. Giving every bite a nice meaty flavor to complement the pineapple flavor. The spice of the tomyum soup is just right and there is also a generous portion of fresh seafood ingredients. Last but not least, my favorite of the bunch is the honey chicken. The chicken was crispy, wasn’t dry and the honey was not overly sweet. This feels like a complete dish to me (like a childhood dish)! The food here is really bang for your buck!

Please take the green thai seafood sauce! It’s my favourite green sauce that goes well with literally anything this place make. The green sauce is also better than those you can find at supermarket (or maybe I just havent found the right brand).

Delicious and yummy food to share with family and friends. We absolutely loved the experience here - black pepper crab was stellar and finger-licking good and so were the other dishes like cereal prawns and veggies.

The place was full on a weekday night, so it is popular, and for good reason. Staff is so kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
