Rare hidden gem Yishun people try to hide. Bar chor mee and satay beehoon top notch.

Satay Bee Hoon highly recommended! Have to queue for some time though.

Tried:

Taste: 4/5
Value: 5/5 - Generous with noodles and toppings
2. Satay Bee Hoon $5.00
Taste: 4.5/5 - Gravy was great
Value: 5/5 - Generous with cuttlefish
Conclusion:
Must try at least once

Got the $6 satay bee hoon this time. Super filling. Different ingredients adds to the texture and taste of the gravy. Cuttlefish for texture, cockles for taste. I did encounter diarrhea right after though. Mild no need for doctor. But is fresh cockles so 🤷🏻

Bought the $5 plate on impulse. They have $4 and $6 option as well!
It looks huge! But then after I stirred up the beehoon I thought actually quite little! But I was wrong! While the beehoon was little the amount of ingredients was alot! So the extra $1 went into the ingredients?
Gravy was super tasty and goes very well with rest of the meat and bee hoon. There is also tou hu. The cuttlefish was very tender and you can taste the freshness. Coupled with cockles which can warm any Jamus heart.
I think the part which can be improve is the pork slightly on the tougher side. But still doesn't make my jaw tired, so all is good. This really seems like a good comparison to katong laksa which is very far from my house. Sadly they only opens at night so no way to lunch this. And do prepare to queue. 15 to 20min at least.

Delicious satay bee hoon!
The $5 plate comes with the full assortment: lean pork slices, blood cockles, cured squid, tau pok and kangkong. No pork liver. The peanut gravy was smooth, sweet and slightly crunchy.
And it's popular! The 6pm queue to the stall was already 8 persons long, and it took about 25mins to arrive at the front. But worth the wait and reward!
Jul 2022 update: snaking queue at dinner time, 12 persons behind! The long queue attested the quality of the food from the stall. Prices have remained the same after the food centre renovation.

The satay bee hoon served here is quite good. And I'll probably come back for more. It is hard to say what so good about it. The gravy and the dish are pretty standard. But perhaps, after trying quite a number of satay bee hoon around the island, I could tell this is actually very good.

😋😊😉Ordered Satay Bee Hoon and Fish Ball Dry Mee Pok. Taste quite nice compare to most food court I tried. 😉😊😋
