A great park with lots of activities for a variety of interests. They had a natural playground, normal playground, a toddler playground, shelter house, baseball field, open green space, fishing pond, some creek access, and a walking path.
A plus was there were a ton of trashcans distributed throughout the park and none of them were full or overflowing. Great job on this park Gahanna!

Our favorite park on the east side of Columbus, we park here to go bike riding on the beautiful creek & canopy tree-lined biking/walking paths. The park itself is very well maintained with a playground adjacent to the parking lot, a decent-sized fishing lake & another playground as you enter the park further. Clean restrooms & there is a covered picnic area as well next to the restrooms. The biking/walking paths are fairly well maintained, but do have some areas where mud accumulates after rains, got to be careful not to wipe out on a bike, especially on the turns (which I've done!) A scenic wooden bridge overlooking the creek is on the path to Academy Park, it is somewhat narrow, but fine for adult single file biking. Great for families walking with little ones. This is a wonderful slice of nature, put the cell phones, earbuds & headphones away, go out & really soak in & enjoy the gift of seeing and hearing the rustling of leaves in the trees, the various calls of the many song birds flying about, the soothing sound of running water in some areas & if you're lucky you will see deer on occasion as well.

It's a really pretty park. There's a lot of versatility for children to play, a catch and release pond, and nice trails.

Great playground! The natural play area combined with the newer standard playground is great for a wide range of kids. The pond is beautiful but does make me a bit nervous with my toddler - the pond is probably a 10-15 second toddler sprint away from the slide so would be easy for things to go wrong quickly.

We have only ever come in the mornings, and it is never busy. It is beautiful and relaxing. It seems real fun for the kiddo as he likes to climb and run around. We also enjoy going to the creek as well. We haven't done the paths yet. Plenty of areas of shade and seating. Bathroom facilities are present as well. The whole place is kept up and clean.

A nice park with lots of options. There are two playgrounds, one with modern play equipment and the other a natural playground. There is also a pond for fishing and a creek entrance that is perfect for toddlers to get a little water play.

This park is a hidden gem. I went birding several times this spring but the wild flowers kept distracting me from the birds. It is clean, well maintained, and abundant with wildlife and beautiful woodland habitat. The bluebells were sensational.
It has a paved path used by hikers, walkers, and bicyclists as well as bird watchers. The moist bottomland habitat along Big Walnut Creek has a diverse mix of wildflowers and wetland vegetation such as toad shade, dutchman's breeches, buttercups, and many more.
It's regularly used but I haven't found it to be overcrowded. It also has a nice playground if you have kids as well as a pond where several people were fishing.
