Overgrown trails. Slippery and broken boards are not handicap accessible. A bald eagle in a 5x5 cage….absolutely sad. Will not return.

$5 admission fee is ridiculous. Very mediocre trails and poorly maintained with a lot of overgrown trees and bushes.
I’m from Chicago suburbs and we have plenty of free forest preserves that are far superior to this.
Heck even camelback mountain in phoenix is free!
Not worth the money!

The nature center has turtles, bald eagles and snakes, plus interesting information about the area and animals. Trails are flat, some have a boardwalk but others are unpaved. Beware of mosquitoes after rain events. Just outside the Woods, there is a path you can take to the State Hospital Park, and there are playgrounds and tennis courts in the adjacent park as well. Parking is plentiful.

Excellent playground and a must stop! We did not visit the park because it is closed on Mondays but the playground was awesome. It is very inclusive and has many different activities to stimulate thought and play for all ages and mobility levels.

The nature center and nature preserve are beautiful. Admission is reasonable and the staff are friendly. The grounds are maintained as natural woods and they’re quiet and lush with growth. The walking trails are clearly marked and kept clean and walkable.

This natural area which includes an old growth yet urban forest with an incredible learning center is one of Evansville, Indiana's most important public spaces. Kids absolutely love visiting here without even realizing they are learning and being connected to nature. Adults love it as well. You can hike their trails even on a hot day and find it several degrees cooler than the rest of the city. The staff here are great and ready to assist you with information or a simple welcome.
