Very good place, narrow roads but beautiful

Had an amazing tour at Wadi Tiwi with Mohammed, a local guide whose knowledge and hospitality truly enhanced our experience. Mohammed showed us some breathtaking spots throughout the Wadi! We always felt safe with him. He's incredibly friendly and professional, making our adventure unforgettable. For anyone planning to visit, I highly recommend getting in touch with Mohammed to truly appreciate this beautiful place. He agreed I share his contact number, which is +968 9283 6861. Don't miss out on this exceptional experience!

Wadi Tiwi is an absolute gem! This adventure was one of the best I've ever had. The toilets were surprisingly clean, and the hidden beauty of the place is unparalleled. However, it's crucial to note that it's quite a trek from the beginning of the road to the lakes and waterfalls, so go early for the full experience.
The approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes journey from Muscat is punctuated by a challenging ascent covering 3 kilometers, which, despite the distance, takes a good 20 minutes or more due to the terrain.
The drive, though a bit daunting with steep, narrow roads, rewards you with breathtaking views. A 4x4 car is a must. Upon reaching the mountain top, engaging a guide is advisable, as the descent to the lake is challenging and not suitable for kids or older individuals. Swimming from the lakes to the waterfalls is a must for strong swimmers, but precautions like water shoes and a waterproof bag are essential. If you don’t know how to swim so please wear a life jacket to be safe.
As an added bonus, on your way back to Muscat, consider visiting Bimmah Sinkhole ;)
The overall experience is incredible, though be prepared with snacks and water as there are no shops nearby. Wadi Tiwi is a hidden paradise, less crowded than Wadi Shab, making it a highly recommended addition to your must-visit list!

Wadi Tiwi is about 2 hours drive from Muscat. It was such a relaxing drive through a small village. If you are not a professional driver, I recommend you park the car and walk instead of drive up hills bcoz it can be tricky to drive in such a narrow lane. Another must visit place!!

Great Canyon you can visit with your car, the road is paved till the village. The are many spots one can stop to have a break under the shade. If you plan to visit the area don't forget to stop by.

163km frm muscat, Visited this place first time, its very nice. Drive to wadi is awesome..
We stopped under that high bridge (the bridge which can be seen in google pics), because beyond that point the waterfall was about 30km further ahead and it was told to us by some guys that 4x4 is a must for there. But you can further move about 4 5 km from that bridge.
Water level was not much there, weather was nice that day… there were some nice scenes for photography. Roads till end are fine…. But no grocery store/ baqala around, so better keep your eatables/ snacks with you, specially drinking water…
Toilets near that bridge were v clean…
Please keep the natural places clean, I saw some plastic bags and other garbage items thrown on road side and in water.
