I was there for my father's 70th birthday. Since I'm not local, I contacted Angeline to make arrangements. I appreciate Angeline's friendly response. We booked for 6pm but arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic. Fortunately, our table was still reserved for us. The restaurant was located in Weil Hotel, Ipoh. Level 1. May go up by lift or staircase.
We ordered the soup of the day, steamed pearl grouper Hong Kong style, lychee wood smoked duck (half), pan-fried sea prawn with premium soy sauce, stewed bean curd, bean curd stick with eggplant, minced chicken in casserole, and for dessert, chilled Osmanthus jelly with Chinese wolfberry and Shanghai pancake.
Overall, the food was decent, though the soup of the day was too sweet for our liking. The serving method for the fish wasn't ideal for slow eaters; it cooled down halfway through. Personally, my favorite dish was the stewed bean curd, bean curd stick with eggplant, and minced chicken in casserole.

Must eat their signature roast duck. Perfect. Price is also not expensive though higher than non restaraunt.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Yuk Sou Hin, renowned for its exquisite roast duck, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations.
The ambiance immerses you in a Chinese dining experience. The star of the show, the roast duck, was simply outstanding – perfectly crispy skin encasing tender, succulent meat bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delightful journey of taste and texture. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, all expertly prepared with fresh ingredients and attention to detail. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Came here for lunch during CNY. They had lion dance troupe coming in today. Many staff, including chef, waiters and captain were excited. Maybe service was lacking a little in that way. (forgivable). Environment was a little dark for me. Could be a little brighter for me.
Came just to try their Signature smoked duck. I must say it is unique. Very rarely or none smoke duck has crispy skin. It is nice. My family enjoyed it. The rest of the dishes are good too.
Another plus point for healthy eaters, this place states their food is free of MSG. So eat at ease without worrying about your health.
I wanted to try their salted egg prawns, but due to CNY season, their menu is limited. May come another time to try other dishes and the smoked duck again!

We savoured the Deep Fried Cod Fish (M$192), Poached Amaranth with Three Types of Eggs (M$25), and Signature Smoked Duck with Lychee Wood (M$59).
The restaurant is elegantly designed and offers excellent service.
I discovered that using a regular Telco connection to browse the internet is slow, so I asked the restaurant mamager for WiFi access.
Strongly suggested for get-togethers with family and catching up with friends.

Had our dinner on 22 Nov @ 7pm for 7pax(6A1C). Overall food were nice with great ambience...we all loved the steamed chicken with enoki mushroom. The signature smoked duck is not to my liking...Special shout out to Adeepa. He noticed my friend put his bag on the floor and he immediatey brought over a chair for him to put. Great service, Adeepa and Thank q.

On our first visit for dinner, we ordered the smoked duck (1/2 portion), Yuk Sou Hin signature fried rice (contains egg white, crabmeat, tobiko and scallop) and their soup of the day. In line with most of the other reviews, it was a fantastic meal and we found all their ingredients to be fresh. Also, they are very generous with the ingredients in the fried rice.
We returned for lunch the next day to try their salted fish fried rice, qing long vegetables and chicken w scallop soup. All were delicious as well.
Value for money, great quality and a breeze getting a table here (unlike several other food establishments in Ipoh where people start queuing half an hour before opening…). Hope they are able to maintain standards so I can revisit this place when I next come to Ipoh.
