I love this place. I just happen to be driving back from the shower and looked up some places to go and saw this and it was a very happy impromptu visit strolling the grounds. Hey beautiful adopt runs alongside the property can't see anything modern so it really takes you back in time
Really nice place to chill and walk around. There is also children’s library inside the castle. Also lots events keep happening there.
Beautiful little gem to discover. Perfect for a sunny day, but the restaurant is also great. Expect some good tasty traditional food and beers. ;) Great for friends or family.
Only had fries when we visited, so I can't really rate the food.
Location is beautiful especially the inner courtyard and the pond in front.
Staff is very friedly.
It is also possible to get drinks to take for a walk around the area by ordering at the stand up tables

A former hunting lodge for bavarian dukes in the 13th century. renovated through ages till date. surrounded by lake and trees with a river pass and wooden bridges. designed with towers at the corner and a pyramid roof gate. today consists of the old gothic sryle chapel, restaurant, museum to german writers and a club for friends of the castle. worth the visit if you are in the area and you finished visiting Nymphenburg Castle cause they were one connected with an axial road now covered with trees.
Food is great (I had lachsfilet - it was just the right amount of fried, salads are also good), staff is helpful and of course the atmosphere of the castle and the lake - it all creates the experience.

Great location (esp. In the snow). Mostly known for the wine festival, but also the restaurant schlossschanke offers good quality and is perfect for a Sunday afternoon combined with a walk around the area. They also offer dinner in the special castle environment.
