We could not imagine a better experience on the Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair Signature walk! The guides Harry, Tom and Beth were professional, fun and capable… I was never worried about making it, even on Day 2 with bad weather and a challenging track.
The food was delicious, nourishing, and hot! Just what you need after walking all day.
Our 14 year old son LOVED this walk, and it has inspired him to do more adventuring.
A couple left the walk at the beginning of Day 2 due to ability issues, and it was handled professionally and efficiently.
Thank you to the TWC team that made this trip possible!

I feel that the 6 day Overland Track Signature tour is likely worth 5 stars, however, due to a couple of unfortunate incidents, one that has since been addressed & one that involved my friend being injured (by no fault of the company) I have had to leave one star off. We were unable to complete the track due to my friends injury. I can say that from July, the company have made this a 7 day tour. This will be an excellent improvement, for the participants, the guides & the confidence of hikers to feel fully prepared & aware of what lies ahead, safety, guidelines, meeting the group & having suitable gear. I applaud the company for this change. Our guides Dana & Clancy were fabulous & under trying conditions excelled with their management of the situation. Do not estimate the demands on the guides, but still they manage to interact, feed you, clean up after you, impart valuable information & history on to you and importantly, befriend you.
We only got to stay in the first cabin, but if that was any indication of what would follow, we give it the thumbs up.
I would strongly recommend that you personally get in touch with the Tas Walking company to book, however, if you book online, get in touch with the company & ask what the composition of your group looks like.
As for the care taken by the guides & company to get my friend & I back to base, with her injury - we applaud them. It was grueling due to the injury & time it took, but Dana & Rod did an amazing job & Garry from the Operations team, was keeping a close eye on progress - even contacting my friend the following day to check on her & reassure her, he had been in contact with the guides & aware of the situation, progress & on hand if further help was required. Many thanks to Dana, Rod & then Aaron for carrying my friends backpack - without this relief for her, I doubt she would have made it.
The follow up from Guest Experiences - Shelley - has been excellent, compassionate, understanding & helpful. Also with her approaching the company to look at policies & procedures for the future - ensuring any future bookings will intercept possible oversights. I feel that our concerns were genuinely heard & acted upon. This gives me reassurance that their guests truly do matter. Will I book with this company again - I definitely hope to.

This is the second walk we've done with TWC. Both have been great. Except for the serving of wallaby at dinner on the Three Capes walk which I found odd given how much we all loved seeing a (live) wallaby outside one of the camp sites. For two nights out of three, wallaby meat was served. Hard not to feel sad about that given the number of dead wallabies we saw on the road on the way out and back in.

My friend and I departed on the signature 6 day Overland Track walk in May 2023. A life changing experience that was only made possible by the Tasmanian Walking Company. A huge thanks to the booking and logistics team who made the walk possible, to the amazing group of fellow walkers and a special heartfelt thanks to our amazing guides Lil, Fern and Maya. Their professionalism, care, passion and knowledge of the track was fantastic and I am deeply grateful.

This is an experience everyone should have on their life bucket list. 5/5 stars.

Completely fabulous. The 12 Apostles walk was a wonderful experience. The guides, Mel, Immy and Monica really made this terrific. The walk itself is a mix of easy gentle walking and some more challenging times. The soft sand walk was harder than I imagined but very satisfying to complete. The accommodation is wonderful and the food is really good. We had a great time, saw lots of wallabies and birds. The walk finished with a helicopter ride over the Apostles and stunning coastline. Superb! Thanks Tasmanian Walking Company.

Trip of a lifetime! I completed the 4 days Signature Bay of Fires walk with my son for his 18th birthday. Truly every aspect of this experience is impeccable!! Our guides on tour Leah & Mia were AMAZING... their passion, energy and enthusiasm was a gift. Loved them both and so too the lodge hosts Bree & Brooke.... absolutely legends. Nothing was ever too much. I am beyond grateful to the Tasmanian Walking Co. Thank you for creating such a well oiled machine! Every detail made for the most enjoyable, easfull experience.

We did the Signature Overland Track in late Oct 22 with Maya and Matilda. We also had a visiting rafting guide Isaac along for the ride, a welcome addition as with this tour I would otherwise have been the only male.

The weather for our walk was almost perfect, with clear skies for the first three days (peaks and lookouts), and then a little rain on the last three that both added to the atmosphere and also helped the waterfalls.

The walk is long with many undulating sections including a 600+m climb across the first day. While some sections are boardwalks, there is also mud, so take their packing and gear advice.

The food was really good, our dinners included Quinoa Salmon; Lamb Ragu and my favourite the Mushroom risotto. My favourite dessert the Creme Brûlée, though Isaac's chocolate birthday cake with Tim Tam's wasn't half bad either.

Late in the day one of the guides would proceed ahead providing hot scones, naan bread or cheese and crackers for when we arrived.

Huts were comfortable, warm and dry, with blankets that we put over the mattress, but under the sleeping bags provided. Hot showers and drying cupboard were also appreciated on wet days.

Really though, our great experience is attributable to the guides. Matilda, Maya and Isaac worked fantastically well together and with our tour group. Not just getting us through the track and well feed along the way, but adjusting pace, timings, side trips and commentary to the interests and abilities of the group.

For their efforts, care and attention we are extremely grateful. The Huts Walk is a great way to do the Overland Track and enjoy this amazing part of Tasmania.

As to the hazmat suit photo, waste is flown out, and on one day, they need to swap out the waste collection tanks. An interesting logistical exercise for which they have special attire to the amusement of the rest of our group.
