I wish I had come earlier because the gate to drive to the summit closes at 7, but I was delighted to find how built up this place has become!

There is a splash pad, complete with covered seating along the sides. There is a massive gated playground area. There is a gated basketball court write one hoop. There is that low-walled pit game where you bounce the ball…can’t remember what that’s called, there are bathrooms and it looks like a changing area.

There are even carnival rides!!!! No idea when they are open but I’ve never heard of such a thing!

That isn’t even counting the actual trail, which, God bless the forgers of it, is not only paved, but you can drive up!!!! I love that I can see a summit even when my legs don’t function well!!!!

So much parking, and handicap spots are close to the activities.

Also, I appreciate the good signage reminding everyone to LEASH dogs. Please do this!!!! Even on the trails!!! It keeps fragile people like me safe! Your dog may be friendly, but even friendly dogs are dangerously for fragile people. One jump from a friendly dog dislocated my hip because I had EDS. Please, leash your dogs!!!

Nice hiking trails close to 128 in Waltham. Good view of Boston if you make the trek up the hill.

Such a delightful place to hike - inside I95/ 128! Great views of Boston , lovely babbling brooks, awesome granite and a look at the trails of an old New England ski area that closed long ago. This park has all sorts of programs as well. Definitely a hidden gem.

Great location park in Waltham MA. Admission is free. Multiple hiking trails (although almost all start uphill). The top offers a great view of Boston (sadly we were there on one of the days with the wildfire). Can drive all the way to the top and there is a handicap accessible trail to overlook. Definitely recommend.

Enjoyable hike! Not too difficult but there are some challenging parts. A lot of interesting plants and insects along the way! Gorgeous view of Boston! We came in early and it’s so serene and beautiful :) really enjoyed it!

Very good grounds for children, nice uphill trails, view points, picnic areas and attraction like a Glacial stone make this park a welcome space in Waltham. The trails are marked and pets on leash are allowed. Note the park rules on the pictures.
