Lovely little theater. There are stairs up and an elevator just before the main entrance for those that need it. It could get a bit hot in the theater but that’s a minor thing. The experience and staff were great and they offer free cold water. I watched their recent performance of Las Borinqueñas and it was a wonderful first time to the theater. It was an intimate small setting and it made a great production all the better. Brava ladies! ¡Y pa’ lante! 💪🏼Would love to see Nelson Diaz-Marcano write more Puerto Rican centric plays. It was well written and I heard some non POC people say “I learned a lot”. When you learn something and feel strong emotions from a play that’s how you know it’s great! I love the work this theater is doing.

The Ensemble Studio Theater is a nice small intimate place for a live show.

The Borinqueña experience was lucid and sobering (despite the complimentary food and drink), and the writers did an amazing job at giving its gorgeous cast the most captivating and expansive bilingual dialogue. The theatre was also very clean and comfortable.

Really loved this small theater! Felt like we were right there in the same room with the cast, because we were.

Excellent play - I learned so much about the experience of South Asian refugees (specifically) Cambodian-Americans) during/after the war in Southeast Asia (aka Vietnam War"). Very well done. Highly recommend "What You Are Now" and the Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Go to anything at this theater. You will not be disapointed. First class plays written by emerging playwrights performed by a very professional actors! You will have something to think and talk about with your friends and you may well have bragging rights to say "I saw their work before anyone knew who they were." Go, and bring your friends.

Small theater creating huge productions. I love the building, quintessential NYC building. We went to go see Behind the Sheet. Excellent play. Truly magnificent. The staff are friendly. I highly recommend getting a reserved seat. One bathroom but clean and roomy. Use of these photos is strictly prohibited unless you have expressed written consent from the owner. 2019
