What has happened to the healthcare in this country? I went in at 3pm with the worst migraine of my life. It took probably two hours for me to receive pain medication. The medicine helped. It was then time to wait for the doctor. I waited until 10:30pm. Seven and a half hours. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and knew we would not be seen by a doctor any time soon. The nurse, who was very friendly, said I had not even been assigned a physician yet. My headache pain, which had gone away, returned because I had missed dinner due to the wait. I asked for my IV to be removed and we left. If you listen to everyone's conversations in the waiting room, everyone is talking about how long they've been waiting.

My experience in the emergency room this morning was terrible. There were several people throwing up, and the staff had no sense of urgency. There were people waiting in there for more than five hours being told the wait time is still eight hours. Make that make sense? Me and my fiancé waited for three hours after being told ,when we first walked in, the wait was eight hours and being told again… The wait time is still eight hours…..To be honest, just go to urgent care when it opens or choose a different emergency room

I’m pretty surprised to be leaving a 5 star review for HCG ER. However, I went in Monday and they were very proactive having tests done before I got back to a room. The nurse and doctors I had were fantastic. After suffering for 3 weeks, something they gave me completely did the trick. I haven’t felt this good in a month. I am grateful to them.

I honestly thought all the other reviews were all emotionally fueled and blown out of proportion, but after having to take a family member there for a heart problem with a previous CABG procedure, I can agree with the general sentiment. We both sat and waited in the ER from 7:30 PM to 5:30 AM. After an EKG and periodic blood tests, there were no updates despite given a monitoring length of 6 hours. I understand pretty much every job in a hospital is thankless and under appreciated, but I found whoever was at the front desk to not only be unhelpful, but actually quite rude. Maybe she was having an off day.

In all, for any ER trips that don’t necessarily demand an ambulance or otherwise due to lack of urgency, from my heart to yours, do NOT go here. The triage methodology is apparently open to mistakes and the hospital is clearly understaffed, underprepared, and overwhelmed. I understand there is a method to the madness and beyond my scope, but at least convey the necessary information in a transparent way.

The emergency room at this hospital is so horrible. The staff were so rude and so unprofessional. They refused to clean the room That my family member was in and the place was a hot mess. I remember going into the hall, different nurses and staff who is the doctor for my family member or who is his nurse and it would take an hour or two just for somebody to come down and see his assigned nurse. Never go to this hospital they should be shut down

Emergency does not mean URGENCY it appears. I will not longer rushed to get to the hospital if a child is bleeding from the head, has had a seizure or dislocated a limb all of which has unfortunately happened to my children over the years and I finally have come to learn emergency does not mean urgency. Try to soothe your child ‘s pain as much as you can, feed them before heading to the hospital and bring xtra clothes as the hospital staff will try their best to limit their duties to doing the least amount of things. Even if that clearly means starving a child. I do not understand the purpose of a hospital being open 24 hrs if all positions are not going to be available until 7 am to 5pm. The staff in the pediatric emergency room should be moved to janitorial duties as most was just trashed not all .

I didn't believe the reviews or complaints I read, they sounded crazy (but I shouldn't have doubted)...
The system is flawed. People with "more severe pain" get treated before you. And the "wait time of 6-8 hours" people are complaining about is actually not bad. I'm looking at a 15+ hour wait time with no food or drink at all. Filthy/dirty bathrooms and blood on the floor, but no janitor seen at all. A broken vending machine to top it off. I'm ashamed to say this is the same hospital I was born at. Johns Hopkins should remove their name from this trash!!!
