Cambrinus

It was crowded but the quality was still really good. The dish and beer were delicious. You also get some salty snack with the beer.

Cambrinus is such a great place, but the experience was dampened by an issue with one of the staff members. She started arguing with me about how the POS machine payments work across Belgium. I've worked in banking for years, and I've been in Belgium for two weeks and visited 37 different countries. Her explanation made it seem like the world operates according to Cambrinus' rules.

Just to clarify for anyone at Cambrinus: VISA cards work universally according to the bank's rules, not the restaurant's. It was a bit frustrating to deal with that, especially in an otherwise good place.

The food is delicious. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff is super friendly and provides great service. I had the steak tartare and fries. So good! I would definitely eat here again.

Amazing food with servings that fill up a lot, service was also ok. When we went it was raining outside and if you don't make a reservation beforehand then be prepared to wait for some time as the place is full and the food worth the wait!

The food was pretty good especially the fish stew and the inside was nicely decorated. However, the Flemish carbonnade was a little bit too lean for my tastes. At least the sauce was flavorful and he beef was tender. On the bright side, the chocolate milk was pretty good. I would rate this place 4.5 out of 5 stars.

We came to this restaurant during our stay in Bruges off of a tip from a friend. First impressions were really good - great ambience and decor. After we had sat down, my wife had requested to move towards the window, which the waiter happily obliged; however, after that, we had quite a wait to be served. My wife ordered the Brewers Set Menu, and I ordered the tomato soup to start, followed by a grilled steak.

Overall, the experience of the place was a bit mixed. We agreed that our food was delicious - my steak was grilled to perfection (medium rare), and she loved the creme brulee. Unfortunately the service was so incredibly slow that my wide and I had to work to get the attention of the waiting staff and my wife getting increasingly fed up. The staff didn't do much to make up for this, we didn't find either of our servers particularly apologetic. Admittedly the place was full when we came in, but had cleared out by the time we had got to order.

In all our bill was mid-90 euros last, which included a few beers last, so wasn't all that bad considering the amount of courses and quality of the food.

First time in Bruges, got space without booking, and it was one of the best experiences. The beer was so fresh and unique. Food was beautiful and had natural flavours. I really loved it and would recommend it. We read a few of the bad reviews when we looked to write a review, but did not see how we could have had such a different experience to those who gave this place 1 star.
