I thought it’s an open area where we’re allowed to get near to the flamingo but you apparently e enter a room and watch through the window
But it’s still an amazing experience 🤩

Great location to observe the all year around living population of flamingos in complete freedom. Free access to the hideout, but only a small parking outside. The best time to go is is during the afternoon just before sunser when the animals get closer to feed on the muddy area next to the observatory.

This is one place I would like everyone ( both residents & Tourists) to visit whenever in Dubai & this is located in the heart of the city. There are 3 air-conditioned viewing towers and these are open from 7 am to 6 pm and is free of cost. Both adults and kids would love this & you do not have to travel to Africa to see Flamingos in dozens & they are available to view throughout the year. The best time to view them is early morning & evenings between 4-6 pm. Though winters are the best time to see them as the wetlands are literally covered by them, however in summers you can see many flamingos so no need to worry. Parking is limited so please ensure someone us there to drop you in case.

Our kids couldn’t believe at first that they were seeing so many Flamingos right in front of them. Entry to the bird viewing point is free and it closes just before sunset. There were other varieties of birds too, but the flamingoes were in abundance. If you are a bird lover, then you must not miss this place. It is indeed very calming and relaxing.
Very little parking space is available. Restrooms are available.

Passing along a boardwalk corridor closed on both sides (I think this was done to disturb the birds less) you will find yourself in a bird-watching room with a narrow long window. To get a closer look at flamingos, there are several binoculars. We were there on a weekday and there weren't many visitors. It is very interesting to watch flamingos that walk against the backdrop of the urban landscape.

"Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a hidden gem in Dubai. It is a beautiful wetland area that is home to a variety of wildlife, including flamingos, herons, egrets, and cormorants. The sanctuary is located just a short drive from the city center, but it feels like a world away. The best time to visit the sanctuary is during the winter months, when the flamingos migrate to Dubai. You can see the flamingos from very close up, and they are truly a sight to behold.

In addition to the flamingos, there are many other birds to see at the sanctuary. I saw a variety of herons, egrets, cormorants, and sandpipers. I also saw a few mammals, including rabbits and squirrels. The sanctuary is also home to a variety of plants, including mangroves, salt flats, and green ponds.

The sanctuary is a great place to go for a walk, bike ride, or picnic. There are several walking trails that wind through the sanctuary, and there are also a few picnic areas. The sanctuary is also a great place to birdwatch. There are several hides located throughout the sanctuary that provide excellent views of the birds.

I highly recommend visiting Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The sanctuary is also a great place to learn about the importance of conservation.

Here are some additional tips for visiting the sanctuary:

The best time to visit is during the winter months, when the flamingos migrate to Dubai.
The sanctuary is open from 7:30am to 5:30pm (October to March) and 6am to 6pm (April to September).

There are several walking trails and picnic areas located throughout the sanctuary.
There are also a few hides located throughout the sanctuary that provide excellent views of the birds.
Please be respectful of the wildlife and the environment.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary!"

Free activity in Dubai, Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene spot to visit & home to many bird species, the flamingos being the main attraction.
.
It is open Sun-Thursday & has viewing decks with binoculars installed to getting to seeing the birds with a closer view.
.
We visited over a Sunday at 12pm & found the place easily available for parking, with minimal crowd around.
.
Best time to visit is during the Feeding time of the birds which is 10am & 5pm which allows you to a more fun experience witnessing the flamingos. Good to visit with Kids..
