Although it’s ruins but it’s still magnificent and attractive. It’s marvelous how they made this in over 2000 years ago.

This should be on the bucket list of anyone with and an interest in history, especially that of Alexander or the Near East.
The area is very well maintained with clean restrooms, coffee shops and restaurants a respectful distance from the main site.
Instead of the palace of an “oriental potentate”, you find elegant simplicity and grandeur hewn from stone. A must visit.

Learned a lot about the Achaemenid Empire and what visionary leaders they have. Persepolis stands on a stone base structure, which consists of The Gate of All Nations, Royal Court, Treasury Room, Throne Room, and the King's personal chamber.

Persepolis isn't just beautiful, it's a mesmerizing journey through time. Rising from the plains like a mirage, its grandeur speaks of empires long gone. Carved reliefs whisper tales of heroes and conquests, while towering columns, defying gravity and scorching sun, stand as silent sentinels. Each stone whispers stories of artistry, blending influences from across a vast kingdom into a harmonious symphony. Light bathes the intricate details, highlighting the delicate floral motifs and powerful figures, leaving you awestruck by the sheer scale and meticulous craftsmanship. The sheer age adds another layer of mystique, reminding you that these wonders have witnessed centuries of history unfold. Whether bathed in golden sunrise or the soft hues of dusk, Persepolis is a testament to human ambition and artistry, a beauty that transcends time and leaves you breathless.
However, it's important to note that the beauty of Persepolis extends beyond its visual splendor. It's also a reminder of the complexities of history, representing both the achievements and contradictions of a powerful empire. Understanding this context adds depth and richness to your appreciation of this magnificent site.
