I’m coming up on on my 1 year anniversary here, and genuinely couldn’t be happier to live in The Silverton! It is such a lovely community of people and the pool is so great :) I rarely ever hear anything from my neighbors, and due to where my unit is located I never even hear the metro passing by even though it’s right behind our building.

Great condos! I've lived in the Canada Dry building condo facing the courtyard (there are three courtyards!). The condo was very quiet for being in downtown area, especially with doors and windows closed! Lots of good amenities with a gym, pool, party room, and multi-purpose room. The best part of this place are the neighbors and social committee: weekly food trucks, yoga classes, and lots of social activities (virtual nowadays)!

My wife and I have lived in the Silverton Condos since 2018. Since moving here, we have found an amazing group of friends and cannot imagine moving away! The building is a little unique, and it can take a while to figure out exactly where everything is, and occasionally you can hear you neighbors upstairs, but that is common when moving to any apartment or condo. Overall, this is an amazing building with amazing people, and I highly recommend you look at it when deciding to move to Silver Spring.

We have owned and lived in the Silverton since original construction in 2006. We love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else. Our community stands out due to the high level of "neighborliness" that has always existed here. Most neighbors not only talk to each other but many even become friends. Our Social Committee is extremely active in planning frequent events for residents and our pool is notorious for being the epitome of summer fun. Yes there is certainly some noise transfer between floors as mentioned in previous reviews but that is to be expected in a low-rise condominium setting. A white noise machine and earplugs go a long way to block out any noise, including street noise, at night. There will always be some bad apples as is true anywhere, but most residents are respectful of their fellow neighbors. Our management team and other staff members are top notch as well. The Condo Board works extremely hard and truly cares about making it a great place to live. In case you couldn't tell from all of this, I love the Silverton!

I have lived in the Silverton for 10 years. I have only good things to say: condo management is excellent; condo board has always been on top of things and does an exceptional job keeping down costs and protecting the owners' investment; great and often unique units; outdoor pool; dog run and of course a great location one block from Metro. Overall a great place to live in DTSS.
My husband and I have lived at the Silverton for 11 years. We love our home, the community amenities, and our neighbors. The Management Team is a huge help and they’ve been here for many years. The building is so clean and quiet. Close to the Metro, groceries, many restaurants, and all the great shops of downtown Silver Spring. An amazing walkable community. The pool is so much fun in the summer and the Social Committee is top notch!

My wife and I lived in this condo for 14 years. We were original owners and still own today (although we recently moved out). We absolutely loved living in this building. It is a large building, but once you find your core group of people it really is a close community. I highly recommend the pool in the summer for meeting your neighbors (assuming this pandemic finally ends) or take advantage of the great cocktail hours, food trucks, book clubs, yoga sessions, and other social events thoughtfully organized and curated by the social committee as well as some dedicated residents. The location is amazing. The combination of amenities, near by bars, restaurants, entertainment, and METRO, makes this place pretty big bang for the buck.

All that said, no building is perfect. We are lucky and purchased a unit on the first floor of the Canada Dry (the historic building side). There was plenty of insulation and the 15’ ceilings meant we never heard any neighbors.

I have absolutely had other friends in the building have issues with sound proofing and things like that, but I feel that really comes with the territory in a multi-unit building. Unfortunately, as a condo owner, you may have to spend some sweat equity on better insulation. I think this really must be on a unit by unit basis. Some had more effort put in by the builder or owners than others.

I would never let this stop me though. And some of that is the price you pay for a more affordable place in a great location.

You will meet some great people there in the Silverton. We sure did.
