Toured this museum with a group of 25. Those giving us the tour were very knowledgeable and passionate. The back story of the company and the Dunbar family were as interesting as the artifacts and trucks themselves. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.

Didn't know it was here till we came on a group outing. Tours by appointment only, so call ahead. Very interesting. All about how the Dunbar Armored Car Co. began and flourished. Or tour was given by one of the former Dunbar Management Employees and Mr. Dunbar's daughter. They have trucks on site to look at among other artifacts. We enjoyed ourselves. Tour took about 90 mins. I took Lord of pics but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

James Dunbar, Sr. was a pioneering entrepreneur who brought professionalism, high ethical standards, customer service and safety to the armored car industry. In 1956 he moved to Baltimore with one truck, one gun and a tank of gas. Against all odds he went on to build the largest family owned armored car business in America. The big red fortresses on wheels served America for decades. Mr. Dunbar's father George, had an armored truck business in Connecticut that started in 1923. James collected 2 of his Dad's old trucks, along with his first truck and one of the latest models we are all familiar with. A spectacular display of artifacts, memorabilia and beautiful trucks. Open for tours by reservation only. Come and see The Most Trusted Name in Security.
