Today I was at Las Quince Letras Restaurant. WoW!! What an a mazizo get experience. I was fortunate to be served by Franco. Franco really made an impression on me because of his deep knowledge on the diverse types of dishes and the ancient history about them. This takes an already experience to another level. If you come to Oaxaca, you should definitely try “Mazuntle en mole negro” and this wonderful drink made out of Mezcal, Pineapple, and grasshoppers. I want to thank Franco and Omar for such an amazing experience. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town. 👍

We came for brunch. The food tasted good. Traditional oaxaca cuisine. Nothing fancy, but good food. The combination of the 3 mole flavors we had was an interesting sampler. The drinks were alright. I would recommend the handmade tetelas and the sampler of different types of meats. It is an excellent way to try various flavors in a dish.

Oaxaca is the place for mole and this is the place to try them. We had five different moles. The negra, almendras, and a trio. All different all delicious.

Delicious meals and very attentive personnel ! They also have a band play music on some weekday evenings. Really recommend. We tried a Oaxaceño plate and a grilled taco, as well as a cheese flan for desert.

Okay, food is indeed insanely delicious. But I believe only one waiter (look like the supervisor he had a blue shirt) was more focused on tables than the rest of the staff. While I understand we didn't look at all fancy. I noticed they focused more on bigger groups/people more dressed for the ambiance. But still it was easy to see the shift of service. I honestly appreciate the supervisor as he wanted to maintain quality and covered the job of 4 waiters that were just standing waiting for the table of 6 people to keep ordering while our table (3) wanted to keep trying their food. Overral delicious - Need to get the staff more organized.

We had dinner here, the food was delicious, I would say it’s slightly overpriced but it was a nice elegant atmosphere and I guess that’s what you’re paying for. It wasn’t an extraordinary experience but very pleasant.

We got
- the plantain starter (banana croquettes stuffed with shredded meat): delicious! I was not expecting it to be so tasty
- tlaydua with crickets: tasty, crickets I now realise are not my thing but I was glad to try it
- almond mole with chicken: a nice quite sweet mole
- mole coloradito with pork: very soft delicious piece of pork and the mole was delicious, very dark and rich, preferred this over the almond mole

And that’s it! It cost us about $500 pesos per person including beers and tips.

It's a nice and friendly place where we first came to try out some moles (served with rice and the meat of our choice). It was a tasty dinner in a restaurant mainly chosen by tourists. Thus, expect prices above average
