What a gem of a place to visit to learn so much about early American history in New Jersey. Really loved the intimate exhibit about events unfolding during the Revolutionary War and how the estate was successfully managed and saved by resilient and visionary women of the families. Wonderful gift shop and grounds. I will surely return for the guided tour at the Hermitage.

Brilliant history. So glad it was preserved. We went for revolutionary war encampments.

They have a constant flow of different events all year long!

Very informative and enjoyable tour and beautiful old home. Lots of interesting history.

The hermitage is such a gem. I enjoyed it so much, and it's definitely worth the visit and such a beautiful place to walk around inside and outside. I'm happy it's still here to teach us all about its significance to local history and New Jersey. I loved the grounds and learning about all the different flowers and plants. The arts and craft show was fantastic so many vendors. I look forward to the food truck festival in September.

When I was a child I went to school across the street. The house was so creepy I would run past it. It was so wonderful to see that it has been restored and so many of the Rosenkratz family belongings remain. My sister and I were there in May and were only able to walk the grounds. We went back earlier this month and were able to see the inside. Our Docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the house. What an amazing home it is! And the rumors about George Washington having slept there are true! I only wish that as a child I'd had the courage to knock on Miss Rosenkrantz's door. Who knows, she might have even let me in!

This was a very interesting historical site. The guided tour was interesting. The docent covered the history of the Prevost and Rosencrantz families that lived at the house. The house also was decorated with many period artifacts including some that are original to the house.
