In my opinion, this establishment deserves a 3-star rating. While the owner/waiter demonstrates a strong work ethic, their approach can be overwhelming and detract from a relaxing dining experience. The constant checking, touching of food, and pressure to order can be off-putting. However, it is evident that Amaral (the owner) puts in a lot of effort and dedication. As for the food, we exclusively ordered meat dishes, which were of excellent quality. It is worth noting that some starters were placed on our bill that we did not consume, but this was promptly rectified upon our request. Overall, the experience was satisfactory.

So good we went back our last night in town.
Amazing! Small shop with 6 tables inside and a 2 outside. Antonio is lively and fun and Portuguese proud!
Polvo (octopus) was really good, better than most places, but you can also get good polvo elsewhere.
Try the grilled cuttlefish. Comes with raw onions, and like half bottle of olive oil and vinegar. It was one of the best dishes i have had in a while.
And please drink vinho verde while you are here. The green wine. It is just so refreshingly delicious.
I asked Antonio to decide on our dessert. He served us something I would never order myself. Fresh pineapple with port wine reduction. It was surprisingly a perfect end to this meal.
Portions are huge, food amazingly delicious, and great company of the owner. I will have to cone back to try the meat dishes!
An amazing find which would have easily made Anthony Bourdain’s show if he were still alive. Yes, it is THAT good.
Thank you for doing what you do Antonio!

The staff can speak English and super friendly; the food are delicious. I have a grilled octopus with French fries paired with white wine. I had a wonderful dinner.

The seafood is fresh and local, prepared perfectly so that the customer gets the most amazing flavours.
The owner is front of house and is full of knowledge about his dishes, he is great with customers and shares his passion for food with you. He prepares the food with his wife during the day and she is in the kitchen at night for service, a true family affair.
We will definitely go back the next time we are in Lisbon 🙌

Love it! So glad to have found this place. The owner is charming and friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! Go there if you want a traditional Portuguese meal. The grilled octopus is to die for. For first time visitors, if you want to decline any of the bread and small bites just politely do so. It’s a tradition for most restaurants to offer them without ordering but they will charge them. All the main courses come with veggies, salad and potatoes, so it is a pretty good deal. Just remember to bring cash (or walk up the hill to the nearest ATM) as they don’t take any credit cards. I will be back!

We had an excellent meal with fun service by, I presume, the owner. He danced and sang as he flew around the restaurant tidying and serving. Know before you go that if you don’t want to pay for the appetizers that magically appear, just don’t eat them. We did want the olives, bread, delicious marinated carrots but not the cheese. I had the octopus and my partner had seabass fillets. Oh, and it included shareable plates of salad and something I couldn’t identify but reminded me of creamy polenta. Very generous portions. We were ready to pay and go but owner insisted we stay for complementary drink of port. It was a wonderful way to complete the meal.

The most incredible traditional food I had on my last night in Lisbon. Croquettes delicious, cod and octopus mains - both full of flavour and huge portions. The owner is also a gem and loves his customers. Don’t skip this place. Worth every penny and more (the bill is almost too cheap). FYI cash only.
