BYU owned and operated, gated parking and trail. The gates close at 10 p.m. Toilets and water fountain are at top of parking area. The trail intersects with the Bonneville Shoreline trail and the Slide Canyon trail, so compare maps for more info.
Beautiful views of the valley from all points on the trail. Although it is a short trail, it is steep and mostly without shade. It is coolest in the mornings. There are benches along the trail to sit on and picnic tables near the top of the Y. It is heavily trafficked by people of all ages.

Beautiful hike, though I just sat at the Trailhead today to watch the sunrise. My dog wasn't having it today, lol. But the view, especially the moon setting across the lake, was absolutely gorgeous. Clean bathrooms, well groomed trails and awesome views of the valley

So good. *Definitely* go in the morning, or in the evening, or on a cooler day: there's very little shade, and it's so hot. Trail is mostly dirt and some rocks and is pretty steep. I saw ages young adult and up. It took me an hour to get to the top in 100° and about 30 minutes to get down. It's about a mile up. There are occasionally a few benches on the side of the trail. You have options to go to the top and bottom of the Y. For me, as an amateur hiker, it was very hard. Scenery isn't anything spectacular, but it's pretty. I would recommend hiking and running as the only feasible option here for activities. There's bathrooms at the bottom and a decently large parking lot.

This is a climb for sure. It is steep and slick in some areas because of the gravel path. Some spots of shade here and there but not a lot. Take plenty of water. Good hike if your up for a harder trail. Beautiful view.

Go around 7pm for a beautiful sunset.
Spiders, snakes, deer, and those with big sunhats are often spotted here. We love the Y!

I think I went a bit beyond the top of the y trail, but it was gorgeous the whole way

1 mile of climbing with average 10% inclination. 13 turns to get to the top. All have good difficulty, but keep in mind number 11. That will test your desire to get to the top. But it is worthy. Beautiful views. Moderate difficulty if you are in average physical shape
